Hello, I find the following information intriguing since I married a Ward 43 years ago! I've not researched them yet, so I have only verbal history from family members. It is interesting that you say there were 3 (or 5) original lines immigrating to America. My husband's family, so far as I know, were in GA, AL and FL from mid 1800's on. His grandfather, John Calvin WARD (18 Oct. 1879 - 14 Feb 1962), was a Primitive Baptist Minister who married Lila Elizabeth WEED (6 March 1881, Chattahoochee Co., GA - 13 Jan 1969, FL). They are both buried in the WEED Cemetery, Crenshaw Co., AL. I would be Interested in any information you would share that might lead me on the right track. I intend researching in AL next month. Thanks in advance. I say America because my line came over from London, Eng in 1635, Before the United States existed. To: Kathleen Pantano I was not aware of FIVE Ward lines only THREE, But I must admit five would be more logical, with the way they spread out so quickly. The three I know are: The William Ward line, my line, which came over from London, Eng in 1635. The line that came over and settled in the Carolinas and the Third came over to the area we now know as Arkansas, as it really was not Arkansas way back then. Please let me know the Five lines that you know. JL Ward >>
