Since quite a few seem to be talking about WARDs from Tennessee and Arkansas, I'll take a chance and post once again. My ggrandfather, William Estes WARD b.20 Nov 1852 in Arkansas (1880 Cass Co, TX census), m Ada Elizabeth (JARRELL) PHARIS 9 Dec 1874, ?TX. Ada came to the marriage with a daughter, Ella PHARIS abt 3 1/2 yrs old, born in LA. Wm and Ada had five girls: Texanna b. 9 July 1875 (married HODGES), Minnie Ola b. 31 Mar 1878 (m McMILLAN), Willie b. 5 June 1880 d 8 Aug 1880, Birdie Effie b. 25 Feb 1884 (m SHERILL) and my grandmother Ethel Daniel b. 18 Oct 1886 (m R.F. SAMS Denton Co, TX 1902). He disappeared in TX aft 1886 on a 'business trip' (He may have been a Bible salesman, but was listed in the census as a farmer) and never came home. I need 1) confirmation he was born in Arkansas 2) any information about his parents and siblings. If this is familiar to anyone, PLEASE contact me!
