    1. DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM WARD OF SUDBURY B. ABT 1603
    2. Robert Kline
    3. Time for a reminder to WARD researchers. Especially new members of the WARD Mailing List. Our online database now contains over 20,000 descendants, including spouses and their parents, of William WARD, born about 1603. He emigrated to Massachusetts about 1638. All the 10,746 descendants, their families, and associated data, in "The William Ward Genealogy" by Martyn, 1925, are there. It was published by Artemas Ward, 1848-1925, and updates the work of his uncle, Andrew Henshaw Ward, who published the "Ward Family" in 1851. Andrew also published "A History of the Town of Shrewsbury," which appeared in 1847, and the "Rice Family", 1858. Additionally, there have been several valuable contributions made through Fidonet and Internet e-mail contacts. Most additions and corrections made recently have come from those who found their relatives as a result of the database being online and indexed in several places. Those that have been included, have other reasonably reliable sources. The records of the Church of the Latter Day Saints, while having been a valuable starting point in some cases for some researchers, HAVE NOT knowingly been used in this effort except when separate independent verification has been made. There are 5,406 WARDs and over a hundred individuals with the surnames FAY, SMITH, CLARK, RICE, BRIGHAM, BROWN, NEWTON, RICHARDSON and TAYLOR. And just over 3,000 other surnames. I have also added several of my other direct ancestral lines, many reaching back to the 1600's in New England. I am in the process linking these families together where I can. There are more details on my web page and under the notes of William Ward, born 1603. Most of William's descendants that we have records for, stayed in the northern states with some going to Canada about the time of the Revolutionary War. After the war we have a few that went south too, but not many. Much later, they are found everywhere. There are also 21 people with the surname WARD that are not descended from William, as far as we know. At least a few of these must link with other WARD lines. This data base, which now includes the illustrations from Martyn's book, can be accessed from my web site at http://www3.telus.net/robertkline/ The greatest amount of work on this database was done by Robert Nelson Ward <rnward@nbnet.nb.ca> and Craig Beeman <crb@ponyexpress.net>. Recently, hundreds of names have been added by sharing among dozens of distant relatives. We hope this project will prove to be reasonably accurate and, at the very least, helpful to WARD researchers and others. The report of any errors, omissions or conflicts is welcome. Additions are especially welcome Happy surfing. Robert Kline email: robertkline@telus.net 1079 Walalee Dr. Phone: 604-657-0134 Delta, BC, Canada, V4M 2L9 Web page: http://www3.telus.net/robertkline/

    3. Brenda, In replying to Linda,I was just repeating the information that she had.I've just now put on what I had although there's still questions on it.Some of my information is from the LDS site(I know,I know),different websites and books. All of my info is in a big pile in my room that I will organize in the next month or so so that I will have sources near at hand.If anyone should be chastised,it's me - not Linda - for not keeping things more organized.Give me plenty of warning before the public flogging - I want to have a good meal beforehand. 2. Miriam Ward
    3. I only come into this line with Mary Ward married to Edward Hatcher.I have Seth Ward b. 1613 in Henrico Co. married to Katherine Smith and John Ward b. 1598 in Wythe,England married to Polly Goode(question on this marriage). >From COLONIAL RECORDS of VIRGINIA pub. by Clearfield Co.(Senate document_in the lists of the living and dead in Virginia from the Indian massacre of Feb. 16th,1623,among the living was John Ward at the Indian Thickett. There is also a John Ward who is listed in the Jamestown Society's papers(I haven't sent for them yet) And, there is a Capt. John Ward who owned Ward's Plantation who is,I believe, the same as the one who was in Jamestown at an early date. Does anyone know if these all all one and the same John Ward? Yes some of the more alert and intellegent people did hurt my feelings but thats ok I guess at least I learn from my mistakes. I am sorry if I have upset anyone if you would like I can leave the list for posting such mis information. I have learned better than this and should have caught it. I am sorry that so many have become upset with me so I think it would be best if I just unsubscribed. 3. We all make mistakes. Some BIG ones and some little "boo boo's", especially when we first start out. Don't let this deter you on your research. Gen is suppose to be fun, not life and death. It would have been a nice gesture to help you, rather then chastise you. 3. Hi Linda, Please don't feel as if you have to unscribe. We all make mistakes(ESPECIALLY when just starting) and those with more expertise should be a little more understanding.I also wondered about the dates but have to go offline to check my records, but dates are the easiest thing to get wrong.Just take it slow.
