Anne, Carl, anyone on list. I do not have a Charles Ward in Kentucky, but like Anne I think I will save all the Charles that you posted Carl. My Kentucky Ward is JAMES THOMAS WARD b.ca. 1832 in Henderson Co. KY.. I am looking for his parents and any siblings. He married Celia M. Denton (b. 1837-in Henderson Co. KY) in September, 1957 James Thomas and Celia (Denton) Ward are my g g grandparents. In the 1850 Henderson Co. Ky census there is a James T age 14 living with Nathaniel age 16,KY a Mary age 46, VA and in the household of Elizabeth Ward age 21 KY I think the Mary Ward age 46 born in VA may be mother of James T. and the other children listed, but don't know. Does any one have Ward families in Henderson Co, KY that might fit or connect to my James Thomas Ward? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Hi, Carl Sorry, I can't help with your Charles, but I want to say thanks for posting all of the info. I am going to keep it, on the off chance that the (mysterious) father of my William Ward of KY had an uncle, or even grandfather who is one of the Charles. You never know when something that seems totally unrelated will tie in! Anne
Please scan down & read this entire posting before deleting. There's some data down there that might help you. I am looking for my Charles WARD in some period of time prior to when he showed up in Adams County, Illinois in 1836 where he married Martha Burke. He was born in Allegany County, New York in 1805 but I have never been able to find any record of him there nor do I know the names of his parents. That means in 1836 when he married, he was 31 years of age. At this age, its at least conceivable that he was married once prior to this. (And by the way, I am aware that Allegany County, had not yet become a county in the year 1805.) First let me appologize first for sending such a large amount of info (below) to the list but the info is related to my request. The 1830 US census that I searched shows 29 Charles WARDs in various states and counties (see list below). I'm trying to find info about any of those Charles WARDs that might possibly prove or disprove that one is my Charles WARD. There are a few in this list that I might have already determined are not my Charles WARD. Some examples are where I have determined that the same Charles WARD was still living in that same state and county the next (1840) census year. Remember, my Charles was in Adams County, Illinois by 1836 and on. Another example is one in Pennsylvania where I was able to prove that the Charles WARD died shortly after the 1830 census. If anyone out there can give me any info on any of these Charles WARDs that might in any way help with my effort, I would sure appreciate it and let me say thanks, in advance. Once again, I appologize for the size of this posting to the WARD list but thought it would be helpful to others in an effort to help me. Carl W. The 1830 US census of Jefferson County had the following person listed: Ward, Charles D. State: Kentucky County: Jefferson Year: 1830 Township: North District Page: 131 males: - - - - 1 1 (ages: 20-30, 30-40) females: - - - 1 - - (age: 15-20) Does anyone on this list know anything about this Charles WARD? Are there any other records that anyone has that can determine is this Charles WARD was still living in that area in 1835 or 1840? From what I can find in the 1840 US census of Kentucky, the only Charles WARD that lived in that state was living in Runney Township of Muhlenberg County. Could this be the same man? Would sure appreciate any idea or help from someone. Carl Ward

Inga, Well, I wish you luck. Mine may have come from S.C., but I have no proof. Just that I heard that there were several Wards in York Co. S.C., that went to Fayette Co. Ga. Have you checked York Co. S.C.? Becky
