I am a direct descendant of William and Susanna WARD through their daughter Fanny. Fanny was born Oct 1816 and was one of nine children. William and Susanna WARD immigrated on 20 Apr 1848 with some of their children and their grandson, John Henry Parkins Ward. Fanny married Richard Lister and they immigrated on 22 Oct 1849 with their children. The few remaining children immigrated 18 Apr 1850. They all sailed from Liverpool to New Orleans. After their arrival I have lost track of many of them, until their deaths dates. I need their married names to help sort out all the Ward families that settled in the UT area. Hello list - I am searching for the descendants of some Swedish WARDs. The sister of my great grandfather, Matilda Josefina Samuelsdotter Rahm/Ramm, married a Frans Otto WARD who was born 14 July 1841 in Heda. They came to America in 1883. Among their children were: Amanda, born 1867 Karl Johan 1872 Oscar Robert 1877 There also was a member of the family named Wiliam, born around 1875. My Wards originated in Cecil County, Maryland and many of these Ward families moved on to other states. Maybe if I post some of the later generations someone will find something that sounds familiar. Sherry, Don't feel bad, I can't find much on my Wards either! I have a William Ward, but don't know where or when he was born, but he married a Clarissa Pearson in 1835 in Fayette Co. Ga. Their children were: James, b. 1836 Ga. Thomas, b. 1838 Ga. Wilson Lumpkin, b. 1842 in Al. GGrandfather He and Clarissa, were listed in the 1850 and 1860 census for Randolph Co. Al. My Ward connection comes from my gggrandfather James Ward. He was born 12/19/1840. He emigrated to Boston from Westmeath Ireland in 1881. He was married to Elizabeth Hanlon 4/26/1865 in Collinstown, Westmeath. His parents were Hugh and Elizabeth (maiden name Carroll). I also know he had a brother named Michael. James and Elizabeth are supposed to be buried at St. George's Cemetery in Saxonville (a section of Framingham) Massachusetts. But, when I went to investigate, there was no stone with there names. THe cemetery is small and not very well kept up. Many stones are broken or no longer there. I don't know if that was the fate of their stone. There was another stone with the Ward name on it. So, does anyone know of any of these people? Or any Wards in Westmeath, Ireland, or Saxonville, Massachusetts? Thanks for any help!

Hi Sherry, I think at this point, land records are going to be your friend! You might want to look in both the Pasquotank and Guilford records to see if he bought or sold land. You might also try the 1830 and 1840 censuses. Did North Carolina have those 5 year censuses? 1855 might be helpful.
