Not certain of this... where is Ellis County? My Grandmother (Roxie Ann Ward Holt b-1900 d-1982) was from Texas (Texarkana area) but I have little more information than that... Dave Bowman Modesto, CA
Are there any of you searching for Wards in Ellis County Texas? To put the question differently, have any of you found Ward relatives from Ellis County, Texas? Sid in CA
I am still trying to find my lost Ward's. James Ward born in 1804,was a farmer, where I have no idea. but he lived in Pasquotank Co.NC in 1850. his first wife must have died either while giving birth or after but before 1850. He remarried to Nancy Ann Bundy born in 1804 also. She also was married twice before her first husband was Nathan Delon and 2nd was Benjamin Jennings. then James Ward. James' children were: William Alfred John Ward born in 1829 died on July 3 1863. James Ward Jr. born in 1830. Enoch Ward born in 1835. William Ward born in 1839. Stephen Ward born in 1844. Sarah Ward born in 1846. Ambors Ward born in 1849. Does ANYONE have any info on this Family? PLEASE HELP.... Thanks, Sherry Jones

Thanks very much for your input, but I am really looking for Spanish American War Infantry volunteers. I have found many incomplete list, but not the one I am looking for. I know from a reliable source, and family history, that two of my family members did in fact go the the Philippines at the end of the very short war of 1898. Thanks again, and any help in that direction will be greatly appreciated. Imogene Hord, Ward IWARD27663@AOL.COM
Hey inga where are u from? I know a inga ward in my family.. Bekki Mcclenney
I believe there was a question lately on this list about Civil War comapnies from this area. I didn't see any Wards on this list but it may help answer the question, the bottom of the listing mentions other companies these men transfered to. Thank you for your help Linnea and Gigi, I have found many areas pertaining to the Spanish American war. But, not the two groups that volunteered from Tennessee right at the end of the war, and saw no action. I am a great grandmother several times over, and new at genealogy hunting. I was humble enough to ask for help knowing my ignorance would show, but of course, some people are so ignorant they don't even realize when it is showing. Isn't it bliss? Keep on looking you happy lookers, Imogene Hord, Ward IWARD27663@AOL.COM

Hello all you good looking people, and you are looking good and hard for relatives. Today is a good-looking day. Almost. I can't for the life of me find the volunteers for the Spanish American War from Tennessee. I have found some, but not those that went to the Philippines, but saw no action, as the war was over. I have two relatives by the name of HORD, who were white, that went. Can anyone help, by telling me where to look? Thank you so very much, and keep looking good. Your fellow looker. JoAnn, By chance, did your Elijah Ward ever live in Lawrence County MS? My ggg grandfather was Newit Ward, b 1765 SC. His son Jesse Ward, b1811 GA, was my gg grandfather. Jesse's son, Willis Ward b1849 Lawrence Co.MS, my g grandfather moved to Cherokee Co. TX in the mid 1870s. Newit's other son, Newit Hobbs Ward, had sons to settle in East TX as well. I understand some of these Wards settled in LA, but I'm not sure where--not sure exactly which ones either. Are any of these Ward names familiar to you? Where were your Wards before settled in LA?
