hi, My Ward line came from SC through GA to AL and finally ended up in MS. We have three with red hair in my bunch. One male and two females. Two of these one male and one female have very, very, curly red hair. Anyone else got redheads with curls? I too am looking for James Ward b. abt 1818, my ggg grandfather. I've been told that on The Lost Wards, James may have actually been a Wood. He ran away and changed his name to Ward. I've seen no proof and find this very hard to believe. My James married Mary Rigsby on 9 Jan 1834 in Union, In. Does this sound like your James Ward? I don't know if it's the phase of the moon or of the sun? :-> Strange that there were a few days of the same queries on the Webb list about the same thing. Do all the redheads become active around the 4th of July, matching those big red bursts? <grin> I am a Webb and my father's mother was a Ward. I have NO redheads that I know of ... but who knows for sure without COLOR photos and accurate memories.
Hi, Yes I already have the Bundy Family line all the way back from when the first came over to the new world. I had to go ahead and get them because her daughter Caroline married James' son William Alfred Ward they were step brother/sister, but they married so that meant the Bundy family is true kin. And of course Nancy's first husband Nathan Delon I have gotten all of his family as far back as France. which is a good ways back into the 1600's. It is the Ward's side that I am needing... And I have looked, but he just seems to not want to be found. Now is your James Ward related to my Ward's? And if so how? It kind of stinks that everyone else can get all of the Ward's down to a James Ward born close to or around the time period of the James Ward I am looking for and it just stops and there is no more info on him. I have found a few leads but like I said no info on the James Ward guess he is in hiding. I have looked through the LDS and it is worthless. Doesn't give accurate info on anybody. Maybe I will run across some luck soon. Thanks for the help and info. I will just keep posting this out until then... To anyone out there, I am looking for some information on a John K. Ward, born around 1803 in Truxton, Cortland Co., NY. He married a Mary "Polly" Bradway around 1826/27 possibly in Cazenovia, Madison Co., NY. The county may be wrong. I am looking for his parents and siblings. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Some say his father was Leonard Ward, but cannot be sure. Linda K. Tennant linkten@usadatanet.net
Sherry, I am assuming that you know Nancy Ann Bundy (born 12-27-1804 to Joseph and Elizabeth Bundy) was born into a Quaker family and her first husband's family was also Quaker. Evidently her second husband (Jennings) was not Quaker and she was eventually disowned from the Quakers (Society of Friends) when her third husband, James Ward was also not Quaker. Nancy's mother Elizabeth was very possibly the daughter of Joseph Henley. I haven't dug any further to prove or disprove this. Joseph and Elizabeth Bundy had quite a number of children. This information is from The Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy Vol. 1 (North Carolina) by William Wade Hinshaw. If you have not already searched these records check your nearest large public library or any LDS Family History Library. The public library can at least get them on microfilm through inter-library loan or the LDS library may have the films right there in their collection. They are also available on CD. If nothing else pans out let me know and I will copy the information and send it to you. I know James Ward (My husband's name!) is the one you are asking about but unfortunately I can't help you with his information. If you already have this information perhaps posting it here wil help someone else. Sincerely, Dianne Larson Ward > #6 STILL SEARCHING!! Hello Denise, I showed my husband the letter you had sent to the 'list,' and he has some information for you on your Ward family. He said that Smith(s) Bend is in Bosque Co. (pronounced Boskey Co.) instead of Hill Co. Smiths Bend is in the South East corner of Bosque Co., and across the Brazos River from Hill Co., to the East of Smiths Bend He suggest that you contact the County Clerk of Meridian Co., the county seat of Bosque Co., to verify the location of Coon Creek Cemetery. Also, contact both Hill and Meridian Clerks Office for birth records of Ira and Delia. Hope this helps, Imogene Hord, Ward IWARD27663@AOL.COM
