    3. I have been getting a number of posts from all over the Southern States reference the Ward line. My line came from Nova Scotia, believed at this time , to have been refugees from the war.Circa 1700,s. I find it significant that the names James, John and William, seem to appear frequently in almost every generation. Could there be a common ancestry here ? Love to hear from someone regarding this. William C. Ward, wm.cw@verizon.net

    3. Gigi, You are awesome!! Thanks for taking time to email me personally. I just started this Ward search and almost fell over when i did a search and saw 250,000 names on ancestry. I growled at my husband. My line is Vondra and there are maybe 30. If this A.J. Ward is my husband's line, it will have to be Andrew Jackson's father, maybe. Thanks a ton. Now we finally have something to go on. Please send me the email addy for the person having the information. Thanks again, judy vondra ward huntsville, tx. and montgomery county texas (The Wards last and present place of residence.)

He later walked back to Virginia in six days (300 miles), married and stayed in Pendleton County until about 1813 or 1814 when they returned to Ohio with their son, William P., born 9/19/09, and daughter, Eliza, born 5/31/1913, to live with James" parents. On the old Ward farm in Pickaway County he spent his boyhood days, remaining with his father until he reached his majority, when he returned to Virginia to marry Elizabeth Propst whom he had known before coming to Ohio. The journey of 300 miles was made on foot in six days. After their marriage James Ward and his wife remained in Virginia until two children were born to them: William Preston and Elizabeth, and they came back to Pickaway County, Ohio. The trip was made on horseback, the son being tied behind his father with a large bandana handkerchief and the daughter being carried by her mother on her lap.
