Eliza was 73 in 1880 and from N.C. She was listed in Petit Jean Township, Logan County, Arkansas along with Mac, Robert and Joseph Ward. It is really hard to read some of the names to see just exactly where she fits in. Someone was kind enough to E-mail me a scan. If it is possible for you to look it up, I would be much in your debt if you would give me a call on some of those names . Thank you ever so much in advance for your time and kindness. Pat

Does anyone have any information on a Miles Ward? There is a chance, that he and my William Ward may have been related, possibly brothers. Miles was born 1790-1800 in N.C., and was married to a Linea "Linny" McLean. This time frame, would also fit my William Ward. Linea, had a sister Anna, who was married to a Jacob Pearson, and my William was married to a Clarissa Pearson, in 1835 in Fayette Co. Ga. They were in Fayette Co. Ga. at the same time period, they were there at least by 1830. Some have said, this group may have come to Fayette Co. from York Co. S.C. I just have a very strong feeling, that my William is connected to Miles. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Becky Carden, rec@hiwaay.net

To all of those that replied to my TN.to Ar. Wards, I have no infromation on what part of TN. my James W. Ward came from. I pick him up in 1880 Petit Jean Township, Logan County, Arkansas. Some of his children were in the next household over. I believe that they may have moved to Yell County or some of the children later on. I would love to know where they went after that in order to see if I can find some cousins. Does anyone think maybe your Wards could connect to mine later on in Texas or something? Pat
I am looking for some information on a John K. Ward, born abt. 1803 in Truxton, Cortland Co., NY. John married a Mary "Polly" Bradway and they had the following children: Leonard, John Henry, Emeline, Stephen Hicks, Spencer Briggs, Mary "Mae", Nancy M., Israel H. and Lydia A. John and Mary were living in Madison Co., NY when some of their earlier children were born. Trying to find John K.'s parents and siblings. I have hit a brick wall. I was wondering if he had a brother, Spencer Briggs Ward, because I know a Spencer B. lived in Madison Co., NY in the early 1800's and John named one of his boys, Spencer Briggs Ward. If anyone has any information on this brick wall, I would really appreciate it. Linda K. Tennant linkten@usadatanet.net
Inga, All I have on my John Ward was what I gathered from the census which only lists the state of birth. It also says his parents were born in TN. Wish I had more but until I can get deeper into the Ward line, that's about it. I guess I'm hoping that some straw clutching will luck out. John Ward's daughter, Ora Lee (b. 5/1888) was my grandmother, married James CAIN in AR, had 2 children, Viola Mae (my mother) and James Wilson. Thanks. I don't recognize any names, but I will keep this incase I do come across anything on my gggg-grandfathers family..... Maybe we will make a connection somewhere. I just can't tell you anything right now cause I have no info on my James Ward's wife or parents, which makes it even more frustrating, unless my cousin knows she is also researching the Ward's... I will send this to her, she may recognize some of these names. Since we are clutching at straws here maybe it is time for me to make my first post to this list. I am searching for Tennessee WARDs as well. I am looking for Lucy Jane Ward.........she married Fell Reynolds/Runnels 3 March, 1873 in Rutherford Co., TN. There are several Ward families in Rutherford, Cannon, Bedford and Davidson Counties. Hi Sherry, Do you remember running across an Elizabeth Ward, maybe a daughter of one of the Ward families? Elizabeth was born at the very end of the 1700, like 1797, she married (Rev) Green Berry Waldrop. They moved to Georgia, for a while, then to Alabama and then settled in DeSota,Tate County, Mississippi. He died in 1854 and she in 1868. They had four children, McDonald, Henry Low, Joseph Ryan and Nancy Caroline Waldrop. Thanks for any help. William, Where in TN was your John Ward born, and where were his parents born? ...clutching at straws here :) :) Inga ward
Pat, my name is William Hughes and I noticed your posting on the WARD family digest concerning your Wards that came to AR from TN. My ggrandfather John Ward (b. Feb 1842) came to AR from TN and can be found on the 1900 census in Lewis township (near Mansfield). Is there any connection?? Do you know where in TN they came from?? My e-mail is wrhughes@tva.com. Any help will be greatly appreciated. -----Original Message----- From: Kittyink@aol.com [mailto:Kittyink@aol.com] Sent: Monday, August 12, 2002 3:09 PM To: WARD-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: WARD-D Digest V02 #111 Sandy, I do not know if the other message went through or not, so here goes. I have Reeds that were in DeSoto MS. that migrated the same way your Wards did, only they went on into Arkansas. I would greatly appreciate it if you were able to see if there were any Reed families living near your Wards in DeSoto and Tate Counties through either the land patents or the census. My Wards came to Arkansas from Tn. Maybe your Wards could be another branch and we could connecte somehow. Pat
