    2. I would be interested also as MY ggrandfather was a John Ward and his son Thomas Ward. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Judy, did any of your Wards migrate to Richmond or/& Columbia Co., GA? Do you know of a Simon Ward who was in Richmond Co., GA in 1830's maybe before that. I am trying to connect him to a family. There was a John Ward in Richmond Co that moved to Columbia Co., GA. I believe he had a son John P. that also was in Columbia Co. Are these Wards or Simon in your family? Simon was b in SC according to the census records . Beulah Brm1945@aol.com or: GrannyMc@aol.com

    3. My earliest Ward is John K. Ward, born around 1805 in Truxton, Cortland Co., NY. John married a Mary "Polly" Bradway around 1826/27 possibly in Cazenovia, Madison Co., NY (this county may be wrong). I cannot seem to locate his parents or siblings. Would appreciate any help anyone can give me. Some say his father was Leonard Ward, but I cannot be sure of it. Linda K. Tennant linkten@usadatanet.net

    3. I am not sure if yours links with mine or not. My Louis Ward was born 1850 and married Elizabeth Johnstone. They had 10 kids. Thomas Henry the oldest followed by Aubrey, Blanch, Louis, William, Susan, Ellen, Agnes, Joseph and Winnie. All of the children where born in Halifax. My line is the Thomas line and I have it all the way down. What I do not have is Louis Ward Sr. fathers name. It is possible that the two lines are connected I just do not know where. My line of Wards where in Halifax from 1850 through the 1918 or about. I know that Thomas was naturalized in 1918 in Mass. Alan -----Original Message----- From: Rich Bixby [mailto:BixbyRoots@attbi.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 25, 2002 12:39 AM To: WARD-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: Ward Family, Nova Scotia I have two households of Wards in the same neighborhood of the 1881 Prince Edward Island census, who were born in Nova Scotia, but I don't know where. One family is headed by John Henry Ward, born circa 1816, and the other household is headed by Solomon Ward (I assume he's John Henry's son), born circa 1846. Solomon's wife Lucretia and two daughters from the PEI Census are found later in the 1900 Census for Haverhill, Essex, Mass, without Solomon, but with a third daughter (who is my great-grandmother) born in Massachusetts. The date of emigration/immigration is reported as 1882. Any connection to your line? 2. My WARD line doesn't go back very far, except for speculation. DAVID WARD was born March 16, 1847 in Belmont County, Ohio. He died November 27, 1927 in Vienna, West Virginia. David WARD married Lucinda PARK in 1867. Lucinda Park was born December 12, 1851 (dau of James and Elizabeth Park) and died in August 1936. David and Lucinda WARD are buried in Mt Olivet Cemetary, Parkersburg, WV. David WARD's parents are believed to be Isaac WARD, born Sept 23, 1823, Washington Twp, Ohio, and Charlotte CLUTTER (of Pennsylvania?). Isaac WARD married Charlotte CLUTTER June 14, 1844 in Belmont County, Ohio. There is an Isaac and Charlotte WARD on the 1870 WVa Census for Grant Twp, Jackson Co, that lists others in the household as James, age 21 Caroline, 18; Lameta J. (?), age 15; Sarah, 12; Isabell, 8; Isaac 7; Manetta (?) 4;Cincinnati 4. David would be 23 by that time and already married to Lucinda for 3 years.

    3. Hi Rich, I have seen the name Solomon before, one of that name came to N.S. directly from England with his family, but tno connection to my line. My Wards, I believe, were all Loyalist who were refugees from the war. Most apparently settled in the Digby area, grand father came to the state some time around 1900, and then it seems all of his siblings also came back to the states to the Mass. area. First chance I get, I will send you a lineage listing so you can check for possible connections. Bill Ward

    3. This James probably died about late 1760s. Actually he might have been killed in the Battle of Alamance since this family were Regulators. Sounds like your James was in the Eastern NC group. You might want to research the family of John Ward of Chowan Co who left a will in 1740s and had a large family. These Wards prob came to NC from VA. Good luck. 2. I would like to find the roots of my ancestors. There were 4 Wards who came to Berkeley Co VA when it was formed in 1772. There names were Joseph ( who is my ancestor)who died in 1787 and in his will mentioned Mary his wife and sons Stephen and Joseph. Joshua who died in 1789 only name mentioned in his will was wife Elizabeth. Aquilla who died in 1806 in his will mentioned wife Mary and 7 children Elizabeth,Jacob,Alexander,Isaac ,James, and another daughter name unknown. Jacob the 4th Ward that was there in 1772 ,I have no info on him at all. There was also Peter ,James ,Aaron and Betsy who were possibly children of Joshua or Joseph. Several children went to Northern Washington Co,PA in early 1800`s then in 1820`s went to Columbiana Co ,OH. Most of Aquilla`s children stayed in Berkeley Co. Any info about this Ward family would be appreciated. Thank you Dona Birnesser
