Hello, Ray. That's my name, too. I don't know who my great grandparents were. They apparently melted away nameless in Arkansas. How about yours. Ray
Ray, R.N. is Richard Nathaniel. He was born 8-8-1834 in New York, but died 8-21-1908 in Rosebud, TX. He and Sarah had 10 children: John Frank Ward, Sr; Martha Caledonia, Mary Ellen, William D., Charles E., Susan E., Richard Nathaniel "Doc", Jr., Pettis R., George Washington, and Sidney A. If you have any information on this Ward family, I would be very grateful. Richard Sr. is my step-dad's ggrandfather and I am on a time schedule for this research. My step-dad has lung cancer and doesn't have much longer. I am trying to something together by Christmas to give him. Again, if you can help I would appreciate it. Hello again. The information I sent about William Ward that was divorced by a Legislative Act was found on the Tennesse Archive site,State of Tennessee. The date of the divorce by the legislature of Tennessee was 1812, thats all the date mentioned,I have been unable to discover the County the subjects resided in,or any other information except another Act which appointed this William Ward as a Trustee of the Johnson Academy,in 1809 ,I presume that he resided in the same county as the Johnson Academy, which I know is foolhardy, But at this point I am just looking for a lead to follow up .Thanks to all for the assistance any additional info you may share is greatly appreciated. Hi all! Must be time for one of my little pep talks. This mailing list is for posts having to do with the genealogy of the WARD family. Anything having to do with a WARD family, anywhere in the world. And for some of us, this seems to include ancestors that appear to have dropped into the middle of a country, fully-grown, straight from the ether. Making an alien abduction theory not completely out of the realm of possibility at this point. ;-) This list is *not* for off topic postings such as virus warnings, flaming, chain letters, spam or commercial email. Please do not post things to the list that have nothing to do with the WARD family as this means I have to think about playing the heavy and putting you on the reject list for awhile for not playing nice. In the specific case of virus warnings. You can *not* get a virus from Rootsweb mailing lists because Rootsweb does not send attachments. This makes virus warnings not only completely off topic, but unnecessary too. Nine times out of ten this stuff turns out to be a hoax anyway. Just think about your name being attached to something like that sitting in the list archives for eternity. If you have something that might be considered questionable that you'd like to send to the list, send it to me first for approval. Thanks everyone! Irene WARD-L listowner

This virus automatically infects the recipients e-mail address book too. So I am letting everyone in my address book know. The virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) is not detected by Norton or McAfee Anti-virus systems. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by messenger and by the address book, whether or not you sent e-mails to everyone. I followed her instructions and deleted it, but it has probably been passed on to everyone in my address book (which means you). I am therefore giving you the exact instructions and information she gave me, and I urge you to follow them and get rid of the virus. Seems it lies dormant for 14 days, so there is plenty of time. The message follows: Here is how to check for the virus and to get rid of it. It is very simple. YOU MUST DO THIS: 1. Go to Start, Find or Search option. 2. In the files/folders option, write the name jdbgmgr.exe 3. Be sure you search your C and D drive and any other drives you may have. 4. Click "find now". 5. This so called virus jdbgmgr.exe is a hoax that has been around for quite a while. For more info, go to Norton Anti-Virus web page http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/jdbgmgr.exe.file.hoax.html The file jdbgmgr.exe is part of Windows. Deleting it will not lilkly harn your system but may effect programs that use Java. The above link will tell you how to restore the file. Rule of thumb, is to check out any request to forwarded messages to everyone in your address book. Good place to check is: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Ward" <crackers@mcleodusa.net> To: <WARD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 23, 2002 4:06 PM > Hi Everyone, > I am just forwarding this to everyone that is in my address book as instructed.
