Neville & Carolyn, I wanted to try to help you guys. I am at best a beginner at this stuff. I was looking on ancestry.com and found an Albert E. Ward and some info on Louisa in the Canadian Immigrant Records. They are listed in the 1901 Census. Here is what was listed: Ward Albert E. 1901 1901 Census of Canada; those giving a year of immigration and a place of birth outside of Canada. Transcribed from (film of) original documents held in the collection of the National Archives of Canada [Ottawa]: District 071 - Hastings North; Sub-District N - Stirling Village; Division 1; page 7; reel T-6472. WARD Louisa 20 1901 1901 Census of Canada: Province of Quebec (Extraction of those who where born outside of Canada and have given a year of immigration to Canada) National Archives of Canada: Microfilm Reel No. T-6534, District 175 - Montreal City, Sub-District A66 - St. Antoine Ward, page 2 immigrated to Canada in 1896 I hope this can help you. I will continue checking here and there. Let me know how things go. Rachel Anchorage, Alaska

Is there anyone on the list who could do a 1891 census lookup for my UK WARD Family - last heard of in 1881 census at 7 House 32 Court Aston, Warwick, UK. The family details are---- Albin Ward, a coke dealer born 1856 in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire UK, his wife Louisa and their children Albert Edward WARD born 5/5/1876 Birmingham, William Henry WARD born 20/6/1879 Birmingham and Louisa WARD born 29/12/1881. I wonder if the family went to Canada or USA?? Is there any census there that I could access. I would be grateful for any suggestions as the total family seem to have disappeared AFTER the 1881 census. Ian, I suspect you meant to say Artemis WARD was the most famous Patriot. The Loyalists were loyal to King George III, and the Patriots were disloyal to him and loyal to the revolutionary government of the United States. OOPS... Just read my reply. It, of course should be "WARD NON-Loyalist." And some of my Wards ended up in Nova Scotia as well as in NB, Canada. I found a distant Canadian cousin related to me on both my paternal line of Wards and my maternal line of Nova Scotia ancestors. Probably the most famous WARD Loyalist of all was Artemis Ward, the first commanding general of the revolutionary forces. There is a statue erected in his honor in Marlboro, MA (or nearby) as I recall. He and my WARD ancestors share a grandfather and grandmother as I recall. My WARD database isn't online right now to look it up. It's an easy line to research as there are many volumes written about him and his ancestors. I found it helpful to get information about some of my Ward ancestors and then had to find the connections from his line into mine at the grandparents. Yes, some of my Ward ancestors went into Canada also, returning to the US in Candor, NY a few generations later, mainly from New Brunswick. The circumstances behind that move are not yet clear to me. My paternal grandmother was a Candor, NY, Ward. Brenda: sent your note on to my husband who works in close contact with Rubio's. Timothy Ward was in the upper administration of Rubio's restaurants in Southern California. Perhaps he can send this on to Rubio's and thus to direct family? I am a new list member. I will post my connection at another message. Dear Family: In light of these devastating attacks in New York, Washington, DC and Pennsylvania, I would like to express to you my sympathy for any loss that you may have of family and friends. This is a horrific memory that will live on in the minds of many for years to come, but please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. My prayers also go to those who have survived this attack, that they will be found, and that the experience will not full your hearts with discontentment and anger. With Sincere Sympathy, Dawn Crawford
