Jordan and Hannah Ward are not in my line directly as far as I can tell but they have been close to some of mine. My Thomas Ward and wife Elizabeth Pugh Ward came to Henderson Co TN from Randolph Co NC. They first appear in the 1840 cnsus there. Living near there was Jordan and Hannah with a bunch of kids and as I recall without looking it up again they were still there in 1850 census when the children were named. I do not know where they came from. I do know that there was a Jordan Ward in Rowan Co in 1700s and there was a Jordan Ward in Bertie County who married a Hannah Ward in late 1700 s I think. Some one told me that the Jordan Ward who was in Henderson Co TN moved to Texas. I do not recall his being in TN Census after the 1850 one. Sorry I can't tell you more. If you find out more about him please let me know. Sorry I wasn'r more specific. The information I have on Carrie Ward is her birth and death dates(May 14, 1912- August 2, 1990). Her last address was 29590 Salters Williamsburrg, SC. I was hoping to learn her maiden name or previous name to see if she could be my grandmother we are having a difficult time locating. I was adopted, but have talked with birth family members who have not talked to our Carrie in 40 years. After searching on internet, I have found that Carrie Ward(SC) has the same birth date and year. It is a shot in the dark, but we are assuming that our Carrie Bean Lane from NC probably remarried after she left NC. Our Carrie Bean Lane spent time in NC prison in 1946. Thank you for your help. Hi, i'm new to the list so I thought i'd introduce myself by posting my Wards. They are; Sarah Ann Ward, born in 1824 in Ecclesfield ,daughter of Bartholemew Ward (1799-1868) and Ruth IBBOTSON of Hathersage, Derby. Bartholemew was the son of Thomas Ward and Hannah and was also baptised in Ecclesfield. Sarah Ann married George Davage and lived in Wadsley, Sheffield untilshe died. This is the James Ward and Martha Patsy Ledbetter line, they were both born in either Brunswick Co Va or old Tyron NC. The family left NC after 1840 and moved to Gilmer Co Ga. 3 of their children also made the move. Frederick, Albert and John Marion. Frederick was already married at the time his wife was Kesiah Ward, thought to be a cousin from family history. Albert and John Marion were still living at home on the 1850 census. Albert was killed in the Civil War and John Marion remined in Ellijay , Gilmer Co Ga. A descendent of this family George Gogen Ward wrote the Annals of Gilmer Co Ga in which there is an article about this Ward line.
