Hello List, I have been watching for awhile everyone saying where their Wards are from. Tradition in my family says our Wards are from France. Possibly the name was De La Ward(e). I have confirmed back to the birth of Cyril Ward b in 1778 Vermont and d. 1842 in Iowa. I have located a couple of documents stating Nathan Ward being his father and have yet to find mother. Any help on this wall would be wonderful. Thank you, Rachel
I sent an email today saying my family was from England, transplanted to Baltimore, Md. I found out within the last hour that my WARD family was from Ireland too. In fact, I just found out from the aunt I very rarely talk with, that not only were they from Ireland, but their name used to be McWARD. Funny what you find out when you ask.
My Ward's were Irish. Judy
Hi all, Has anyone ever run into a line of Wards with a very noticeable white streak in the front of of the hair in the males? I have it (or had it when I had more hair!). If this rings a bell, please let me know! Bob -- Bob Ward Acting Principal Horn San Francisco Symphony http://home.earthlink.net/~rnward/ http://www.baybrass.org
I'm searching WARD'S from England, but have only gotten back to Baltimore, Md to John and Mary WARD, parents of Carroll Francis WARD, my grandfather. Carroll was born 1898 Baltimore. Is there a link, by any chance?

Phebe Ward born in 1772 in Middletown, Connecticut, married Fairchild Hubbard. Thet were in Champion, New York for a few years before coming to Ohio. I know a number of Wards came to this area in those years. But I can't connect Phebe to them. Phebe's parents were Joseph Ward & Lucia Sage Butler. Maxine Barnett
No, not that we know of. Pretty sure they were from England. They were in NewEngland before 1700. Maxine
Were yours Irish? And was there a father named John Ward with a son Thomas born in 1836 Indiana. My kin took off from Indiana after the 1840 census and stopped in Ohio somewhere ?Before California.Judy
How about Wards in Lorain county Ohio, related to Hubbard & Wilcox. Mine came to Ohi from NewYork state, before 1830. Any kinfolk.? Maxine Barnett in Lorain county.
Is anyone researching Wards in Gallia and or Lawrence Co., OH?
Julie, No it wasn't. I say that with confidence because I doublechecked. I was wondering if the line I am searching for started out there. When I saw these I thought it was the same; just repetition; then it dawned on me. This one is one word. It may be a related family but they appear to be seperate. My ancestry sub is up so I can't get you the exact spelling. Sorry, Inga
Hi Inga, Could it have been Anne Arundle ? I have been told that my Ward line from Md. was from England. Maybe there's a connection. I'm not sure. I'll see what I can find.
