    2. Joachim Wilck
    3. Here are snipets from a book, "The Life and Speeches of Hamilton Ward" by Hamilton Ward Jr.: 1902. "My grandfather's name was Peter. He was born near the line that divides England and Scotland, on the Scottish side. He came to this country before the Revolution, and settled in what was called Long Pond, NJ about 30 miles from New York City. He was a farmer. His son's name was also Peter. He was all through the Revolutionary War. He was a member of the Senate and Assembly of New Jersey for twenty years-most of the time in the Senate. My mother's maiden name was Nancy Mead. She was born in Holland. Her father's name was John Mead. (They) settled in Camp Gaw. (They) had five sons, Peter, the oldest, John, Thomas, James and William, and three daughters, Jane, Catherine and Mary. Peter was born at Camp Gaw. When he was married he settled there. My sister married Isaac Bogart of Camp Gaw (NJ) Catherine married Stephen Sloat of Sloatsburg, NY. Mary married Abram Dater of Rockland County, NY. Nothing is known of the family prior to its immigration." Will post more later! Debbie

    3. Hi Ward, I would like to compare info but I need a couple of days to untangle a Ward/Cooper connection first so I can give you my undivided attention. John Ward, Turner is indeed one of my lines - his father is George Ward. This is the line I am trying to untangle now, I go through his son Caleb, to Caleb, to Zebediah to Elizabeth (m. Wade). I also descend through another son of George's (Josiah.) Through John Ward, Sr. I descend through Mary, Elizabeth and Dorcas. I have 2 Lawrences so far. One is brother to George above and had no children. The other b. 1710 d. 1793, son of Josiah Ward and Mary Kitchell, m. Elizabeth Baldwin. I haven't untangled the Ward/Trafford thing but have lots of conflicting info I really haven't analyzed closely yet. Who are your Ward's? 3. Hi Ruby, Where in Texas is your line of Wards? My mother's mother was Margaret Ward, believed to be the daughter of Ezra Ward and Margaret YOUNG Ward. Ezra married Margaret Young while living in North Carolina. My mother was born in Ellis County, Texas, in 1892. Are you connected to this line? I could use help from anyone willing to help. Thanks, Sid in CA Ruby Beaver wrote: > > I would like to have anything you can send me on Wards. I am seeking > ancestors of two Ward Lines. 2. To Kathleen Pantano, I'm very much interested in your five different lineages of Ward people. Which Sgt.John Ward and George Ward are you referring to? Would love to compare notes via email at [email protected] or at [email protected] Are you aware of the different spellings or Ward or Warde? I have a John 'Dishturner' Warde, Sr. who is probably related to Sgt.John Warde. What do you have on a Lawrence Warde? Has ANYONE resolved the quandry about Joyce Trafford (Stafford) who married either Richard Warde or Stephen Warde?? Ward Lee Ward AKA The Kansas "Genie"
