    3. Inga, I've a possible WARD from TN who settled in Alabama. She's Rachel (first name may also be Alla) WARD, b 1804 TN, m William WEEMS (1801 SC) and settled in Greene Co, AL. They're there from before 1830 until aft 1855. I don't know what happened to them. Next door in the 1850 Greene Co census is Mary WARD (1783 SC) and her (presumed) widowed daughter, Catherine Ward EDWARDS (1806 TN). Any of these familiar? 2. The Wards in my Family have a lot of the same names too!! Robert Ward who was married to a Sarah Elizabeth were married and living in Randolf Co. Alabama in 1850. His father was either Samuel or Wilson, (Wilson I think) they were brothers out of Virginia originally, and were born between 1790 and 1805. In 1860 the families had grown and the fathers lived with son's families in Randolph, Clay, Tallapoosa, and Elmore counties of Alabama. I heard (for the first time) at a reunion 6/17/00 that they were to have gone to South Ala. before coming back to central and north Alabama. The man I need is Frank Riley Ward. I believe he was the illegitamate son of Charlotte Ward who was listed in as a worker in a Pool room in Wedowee Al in the 1860 census. The family has been told he was born Frank Threadgill (no middle name given, no mother's name given) but one of the stories say he was the child of a recent immagrant (1850's) who was killed either in the civil war or building the Tom Bigbee Water way. The wife gave the child to the Ward's and returnrd to Scotland after the husband was killed. The more believable story says the child was given to the brother of the mother (Ward girl) and that brother went to the civil war leaving the child with a 1st cousin by the same name, (Robert Ward) who came back from the war and the cousin refused to give the boy back. I have found these Ward's with Frank (Threadgill) in 1870 census of Clay county Ala. they also had a daughter Charloote who was born in Miss. she was 19 and Frank was 21. Then he appears again as Frank Ward in 1900 census in Winston Co. Ala with his wife Joanna Kilgo and my grandfather who was born in 1891. If any Ward's or Threadgills can help me I would appreciate it! I would love for you to be family! Let me know> PLEASE
