Jeannie, Both Vikki and I are related if we go back to James Ward (b.1672) who came from Ireland with his wife, Sarah Rodgers and children: 1. James Ward b.1700 Ir. d.bef.1763 near Staunton,Augusta,Va. 2. William Ward b.abt.1702 Ir. d.near Staunton m. Jane Swaim 3. John Ward b.1704 Ir. m. Mary Campbell or McCormick Vikki's line goes back through 2.William to James and mine goes back through 3.John to James. So, Vikki is more closely related to you than I am. You see the importance of listing siblings, or we would not know this connection. I don't know if either of you had gotten back to the original James Ward. Janet From: "Jeannie Frazier" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Subject: Cousins? Cousins! Date sent: Sat, 24 Jun 2000 14:31:58 -0700 Dear Janet, What a fluke! I have been on the Ward mailing list for some time, but have not been really working on my lineage from the Ward's for awhile. I haven't a clue as to why I looked today. But am glad I did. I'm a also a descendent of Ward's and Bowen's from Tazewell CO., VA. My line goes not only from Lt. Rees Bowen/Margaret Louisa Smith but from the same Ward's as yours. Mine is from the daughter of Rees and Levisa, Louisa Bowen who married Col. John Thompson. My gr. gr. grandparents were Achilbald Thomspon Ward, son of Jane Campbell Thompson/Alexander Ward. Alexander was the son of David Ward and Jane Cravens. Archibald married Rebecca Cecil Thompson, his cousin, daughter of William Henry Thompson "Squire Billy" and Matilda Witten, dau. of James "the Scout" Witten and Rebecca White Cecil all from Tazewell CO., VA. William was a son of William and Matilda. My gr. grandparents were John Blair Ward/Sallie George McCall, through their dau. Mary Blair Ward. Mary was my grandmother, often called "Blair or Babe", I think the latter was an endearment my grandfather gave her as a young bride and it stuck. Even my dad called her "babe". She married William Henry McTyer Frazier, son of Creed Dillon Frazier/Julia Ann Manning. The history of these families are fascinating, don't you think??? I'm always so happy when I run into another cousin. Would love to correspond and perhaps exchange and/or share information. Sincerely, Jeannie Frazier [email protected]

Actually the Okla Wards are for my sister who does not have computer....I am checking with her on these. My own lost Ward is an imigrant Thomas Lee Ward, b. 06 Jan 1847, Lincolnshire, Eng. and who married Mary Eliza Macranden 24 Jan. 1881 They lived in Boone County Mo until coming to Okla after 1898. I am sure Mr Ward had an earlier marriage and children and this was her 2nd marriage Kenneth
Hi Joyce, I am sorry but I don't know the answer to your question. Troupe is unknown to me. My WARD's were in Ellis County, TX. This is adjacent to and directly South of Dallas. I know little of my mother's family. Her mother was always called Mary, but I am not certain that is totally correct. Mary was born in 1866 and died in 1900. I have her name also as being Martha M. Ward. I believe that her father was Ezra B. Ward b.01-25-1826. He married Margaret Young, in 1855, in North Carolina. Any connection? Ted, What are the first names? I also have Wards from Eng. Mine came over in 1661 but I cant find anything more on them. It is my 8x grt- grandfather and I havent been able to find out who his father and mother were or any siblings. I know he came to MD in 1661 when he was about 23yrs and that he was born in Northamptonshire, Eng.
