Thank-you Debbie Allen :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Wanda, Thank-you for sending the newsletters--Now I get to decipher them :-). Is there a quick way to try to find a John Wamsley--I only know he died in Montana in 1897--according to a death note I have for his wife Wilhelmina b. 22 Feb 1841 in Penn moved to cinncinatti then Nebraska before moving to Glendive,MT in 1886--I am assuming she was married to John WAMSLEY when she was in Nebraska. I do have information on John and Wilhelmina's children (can't find any living decendents yet though) but I just don't know where John came from. Thanks for your newsletter to guide us. Debbie Allen :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: re: Wamsley Elementary School, Rifle, Colorado. "Dear Mrs. Balducci, I am happy to respond to your questions concerning the naming of our elementary school. The school was named after Cecile Wamsley, a wonderful teacher. Cecile taught school in Rifle for many years, and in fact was my first grade teacher. She was truly a special lady and touched the lives of many young people during her teaching career. It was decided to name the new school after her but unfortunately she passed away before it was finished. Cecile passed away in 1980 and the school was dedicated in April of 1982. Cecile's family was raised in Rifle and her husband Bob still resides here. I hope this information has been helpful to you. I feel very fortunate to work at the school named for Mrs. Wamsley. She was such a kind and caring person, and a very special teacher. Sincerely, Sandra Lay, Secretary." :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Wanda-- Do you know of any WAMSLEY's in Butler County, Iowa 1872? :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: From: trackfan@eurekanet.com Wanda: To answer the question: Do You Know Who These People Are? Thanks Sue :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO THIS PERSON IS? Steve Wamsley, who died in 1905. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Dear Wanda, I saw your query in W. Virginia on the William Wamsley Family, actually I don't have much on this son of John Wamsley. Other then what you wrote, plus their marriage date of 25 Aug 1782. I just had the one dau, Margaret 4 feb 1785 m Adam Harper. Could you give me the birth dates of the other children. The reason that I am interested in the Wamsley's is they were closely connected to the Wood Family, my main interest is a Peter Wood, and the Robinsons at Harrison Co, WV. My John & Joseph Wood came from Hardy Co, Va (WV) to Harrison Co in about 1785. the children m Fleming, Wood, Robinson, Wamsley, they all lived on the Crick near Shinnville. Have you any Wood marriages in your research on Wamsley Sincerely, Larry Phalin >> :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Hello, My name is Karen Myers and I am interested in being added to your "Wamsley" Newsletter mailing list. My connection with the Wamsley family is through my great grandmother who was Sarah Wamsley, wife of Jacob Snyder of Upshur County, WV. From the information I have, Sarah is the daughter of Joseph Wamsley and Martha "Patsy" Jamison. In October my husband and I went to the cemetery in Queens, Upshur County where Jacob and Sarah are supposedly buried but the tombstones were just unmarked field stones. I have just begun the search for my ancestors and any new information I find is always greatly appreciated. Mary Ann Wamsley told me of your group and I really look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. KM :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Dear Wanda, I was overwhelmed with all the material you sent, thats alot I appreciate your time. I know it took alot of time to put all that together. I have started to put it all together in my records. Just one question on the children of William, you show Mary as died 28 Aug 1812, married Marshall on 18 Jul 1824, only a typo I know. I definitely would like to be on your newsletter list. Finding the Parents of Peter Wood is my biggest priority, and all those Harrison Co Wood, Wamsley, and Robinson are all somewhat connected. What more can you tell me on that John Wood m to Eva Elizabeth Harper. Did they also live at Harrison co, what was his age, I haven't run across this family before, it interests me. I 'll get back to you with more on the Robinson Family, after I absorb it more. Maybe I can add to your records. thanks again, it was very thoughtful of you to be so helpful.
