Surnames: Wamsley, Bronson, Wellsby Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BVVBAIB/223 Message Board Post: My Uncle has asked me to do some research for him, so here goes. His dad was Thomas Wayne Wamsley, born 6-7-1892. He has given me some more names and locations. Locations are Marlington or Marlinton, Buckeye, Elkins, and Pocahontes County in WV. Lucy Kate Wamsley who I believe was Thomas' mother, but my Uncle wasn't sure if she was married to or just assumed the name of Wamsley. Jesse or Jessee, wasn't sure of last name but thought it may have been Thomas' dad, possibly Wamsley. Helen Wellsby Wamsley was my Uncles mom. My Uncle and his mom came to Central Florida around 1930. Helen married and my Uncle was eventually adopted by Mr. Roy Bronson. My Uncle also mentioned a gentleman by the name of Norman Wamsley who is a Cousin to Thomas. Thomas was in the Army Comp. B 9th Engineers, Cavalry. My Uncle is 80 years old and would like to see if he can locate any of his Wamsley Family Roots. My Uncle thinks that his dad, Thomas was an only child. Thanks in advance for any assistance ......................................Jimmy

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BVVBAIB/221 Message Board Post: I would like to ask any Randolph County WV Wameley Family Researchers if the correct year of birth for Elizabeth Crouch Wamsley, daughter of Andrew and Judith Crouch, wife of Samuel Wamsley is 1789? The reason I ask is that Andrew Crouch, died after April of 1780, when to my knowledge is the last record which shows Andrew while he is still alive, this record is from Land Commissioners Meetings held in April of 1780, at the home of John Warwick, in a dispute filed by C. Warwick over the land on which Andrew and brother Joseph Crouch both lived on, the entry clearly states both Andrew and Joseph were present, and the Commissioners ruled in their favor, I am not sure of the exact date of his death, but do know it was before 1782, when his widow Judith is listed as head of the household and has 4 children. My point being if 1789 is the correct year of birth for Elizabeth, there is no way she could be Andrew's daughter since he died several years before, so I would like to kno! w if anyone knows any information that will verify the year 1789, and if so, who her parents are if not Andrew? Thanks, Randy
