They lived on Masten Road in La Pine, OR in a trailer house and they had Hereford cattle. I was much younger, but I used to come out and visit them. I'm an old ranch girl, so loved the cattle and talking ranching. My husband and I own the place where they lived now. It belonged to Clarence and Lila Parson when Jay and Lydia lived there. I never knew of any children, nor did they ever mention any to me, but then that was not any of my business. 3. I have a pension file (Civil War) on a Wamsley from this area and it wasn't mine, I will go through and check for names and post something if it happens to be this Job's family. Thanks for the information. Author: tomhuber144 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wamsley/260.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The Adams County, Ohio, Courthouse burned in 1910, taking most of the records with it. However, one marriage book survived and maybe the certificate will provide parents names. A Job Wamsley was married to Jane Osman on 3 Jun 1824. It is found on page 83 of marriage book 3, if that helps any. I had hoped that the record had been indexed in FamilySearch, but don't find it, so either it was mis-indexed or hasn't been included in the collection of County Marriages for Ohio. The only record I have of Job is that he was born around 1802 and that Sarah, his next younger sibling was born in 1803 in Adams County. I don't have any death date (at this time) for Job, but haven't spent any time researching him, either. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. John Trader, son of John Trader, brother of Arthur Trader. The younger John Trader was my ggg-grandfather. I recently found information in Boone County Kentucky court orders record. The elder John Trader left his two sons in care of William Walmsley (aka Wamsley, Warmsley) and his wife (nee Bussel) in Boone County, Kentucky. Don't know what happened to the elder John. The court took away the two brothers from that couple. John was indentured to Isaac Carlton and Arthur was indentured to James Porter. Don't know what happened to Arthur. Any information appreciated. Author: tomhuber144 Surnames: Wamsley, Stout Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wamsley/256.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have not found any document that validates that Harvey was Isaac's middle name. What has happened is that he had a son or grandson that was alleged to be Isaac Harvey Wamsley and because the son was alleged to be called "Jr." and the grandson "III", I believe people have assumed that Harvey was used all the way back to our immigrant ancestor, who came from "North Germany" according to some histories. Far too many people make genealogical assumptions and as a result, I see things like this, which I question until I can obtain actual evidence supporting it. So far, I have found nothing that even hints at Isaac (husband of Leah Stout) had a middle name of Harvey. Also, they are buried together, so I have no doubt they were married, but I have found no marriage record for them. Thanks for responding, but it sounds like you may not have any more than I have for Isaac. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
