Sir William Wallace died without children. The Wallace lines from that family are descended from his brother supposedly. As a Clan who was NEVER involved in Clan Wars in Scotland, we surely do look like a bunch of heathens on this mailing list. >> - ------------------------------ Dear TM - As a member of the Clan Society, you probably have the best data -- certainly better than mine. I wish I had some news on yuor Kentucky roots but I am afraid that my Wallace line never lived south of Chicago -- except for one generation in Los Angeles earlier this century. I will keep my eyes open though. Seems that we have a good bit of Kentucky interest here. Let me ask you a question. Was Sir William's father the first recorded Wallace? Does anybody have real records from that period? Maybe in Stirling? I am stuck on my earliest know American giga-grampa: James Wallis [born 1695, died 1747 in Leicester, Massachusetts, a town in Worcester County]. His wife, Mary, was born in 1698 and died in Colrain, Massachusetts in February, 1769. Anybody know where these Wallises came from?? Find me an answer and I will volunteer to be your humble researcher for an entire morning. <g> Steven Rollinson Wallace <------------ if anybody trips over a Rollinson, pls lemme know. Thx
