    3. Hi! I have traced my Wallace ancestors to Marine Township, Madison Co. on the 1850 Federal Census. They are listed as follows: 1850 Madison County, Illinois Marine Settlement page 562 24 August Dwelling/Family #87/87 John B. Thompson, age 28 male, farmer, $1,000., TN Lavina, age 38, female, OH Squire F., age 2, male, IL Mary E., age 2/12, female, IL William A. Wallace, age 22, male, IN John F. Wallace, age 20, male, IN Catharine A. ", age 16, female, IN Margaret J. ", age 14, female, IL Charles B., age 12, male, IL Lavina has formerly been married to Charles J. Wallace and the family was in Coles Co. for the 1840 census. Lavina married John Thompson in 1845 in Jefferson County. I do not know what happened to Charles. In the on-line Illinois Marriage Records, I found a John F. Wallace married a Sarah Jane Silor on 26 January 1853 in Madison Co. Is this the same John as above? William A. Wallace is my direct ancestor. I would love to be able to fill out another branch of someone's tree. William married Rebecca Coffelt in Jasper Co. Missouri in 1861. According to later census records, their oldest two children were born in Illinois - Emma Frances and John Thomas - where is what I am searching for. I believe that the family moved back to MO for the duration of the Civil War and returned to Missouri by 1868. Thanks for any assistance! Claire Wichelmann
