Andrew WALLIS/WALLACE. He married Margaret CALBREATH in 1796 in Augusta County, Virginia. Andrew and Margaret were present in Augusta, VA for the settlement of Margaret's father's estate, Thomas CALBREATH(also spelled GALBRAITH ), in 1801. Nothing is known of them until the 1820 census of Smith County, Tennessee where Margaret/Peggy appears as the head of household suggesting Andrew was deceased prior to 1820. Andrew and Margaret had a son, who I am descended from, named Thomas M. WALLIS/WALLACE. He was born in 1805 and claims Tennessee as his place of birth. Thomas M.WALLIS/WALLACE married Jane Calbreath, his cousin, in ca. 1825. Thomas M. WALLIS/WALLACE appears in census of 1840, 1850, Macon County, Tennessee as head of household with Margaret as a member of his household. Possible siblings of Thomas M. WALLIS/WALLACE are : Andrew W. Jr., David or David M., James, Jefferson, William C.and Sarah. Thomas M. WALLACE and Jane (CALBREATH) WALLACE had the following children: Mary L. Wallace born ca 1836 TN Andrew Smith Wallace born 1837 TN, Mar. Louisa Holcomb, died 1923 KY William Alexander Wallace born 12-3-1839 TN, Mar. Eliza Crantz/Krantz, died 6-30-1919 KY Thomas Wallace born 1841 TN Hugh B. Wallace born 1843 TN Sarah Jane Wallace born 7-20-1847 died 12-12-1890 KY, I have strong feelings that Andrew WALLACE was the son of Samuel WALLACE, son of Peter WALLACE in spite of the conflict over the Andrew WALLACE that married Jane BLAIR being Samuel's son. Following this then, Andrew would have followed his Uncle John, brother to Samuel, to Anderson County, Tennessee with the rest of his brothers and sisters after Samuel's death in 1786. Samuel Wallace and Rebecca Anderson Wallace's children: Elizabeth b. 1766-7 married Charles Grigsby February 18, 1790.; Andrew b. abt. 1770. married to Margaret Calbreath/Galbraith/Galbreath, March 3, 1796; James b. abt. 1773 (his father was fighting already in Lord Dunmore's war in 1774, and then he was assigned elsewhere by 1776) married Elizabeth Huffman Nov. 12, 1801; William b. abt. 1781-2. Samuel WALLACE left a very young family in 1786 who surely would have followed Samuel's only remaining brother John, to Anderson County. Please help people, I know that Anderson county was loaded with Wallaces. Any information regarding Andrew WALLIS/WALLACE is dearly needed. Will exchange information. James Wm.
