When we first corresponded you mentioned that you heard that Ruth WALLACE, daughter of William and Sarah, and wife of Benjamin Grayson ALEXANDER had married her first cousin. How much credence to you give to that? Also, I've run across something on a WALLACE web site stating that William WALLACE, father of Ruth, was the son of Joseph James WALLACE, grandson of Matthew WALLACE, and great-grandson of Matthew WALLACE. This web site also states that William married Mary WALLIS, daughter of Ezekiel WALLACE and Jean ALEXANDER. This is definitely the same William WALLACE because everything else, dates, children, etc. are the same. The person who posted the information states that Mary WALLIS is indicated as being William's cousin and that there is a reference to Mary WALLIS in the Blount County Tennessee Cemetery Records, by Little, 1980, page 260: List of soldiers and patriots of the American Revolution who settled in Blount County-State of Service, Pat.NC, wife Mary Wallis. Another predicament is that on this same web site the mother of William WALLACE is indicated as being Isabelle MILLER. I thought it was Ruth___. Other researchers also think it is Ruth.
