Hi! Bill, As an aside: Seems to me you may be connected with the first lady governor of Texas, i.e., MAW Ferguson, whose husband had been governor before her. I was always told that they were called MAW and Paw Ferguson. Only later did I learn that her MAW stood for Miriam Amanda Wallace, born 13 June 1875 in Texas, the daughter of Joseph Lapsley Wallace, b. 11 July 1833 in Kentucky, and Eliza Garrison, b.1840 in Panola County, east Texas. She was the widow of Wesley Ferguson, and married Joseph Lapsley Wallace 4 July 1869. The Wallace farmland was in Bell County, Texas, and had been settled in about 1845 by Joseph Lapsley's father,Warner Wallace and his wife Miriam McKee Lapsley. Warner Wallace is said to be a great great grandson of the Michael Woods, Sr., b. 1680 in Ireland, and his wife Lady Mary Campbell, who emigrated to America in 1720 with their 8 children and were granted lands in Virginia. This information I CANNOT document. It comes from some pages I have been given of a book on the Fergusons of Texas. My interest is in Eliza Garrison Wallace's mother, Ellender Twomey Garrison. a member of my Twomey family. Hope this helps a little or at least doesn't confuse too much. Cheers, Wallace Smith My Wallace line is a brick wall thus far!
