Ilene, So close, yet so far, although a couple of my Wallace ancestors were born in Halifax County, VA, most of them moved on to the Kanawha Valley near were the Kanawha River and the Ohio River meet, in the area of Kanawha, Mason, and Cabell Counties in what is now West Virginia. They lived there when it was still part of Virginia, before the Civil war, and intermarried with several other branches of my Family, Eads, Lockhart, King, Finley, Oleacre... I have not had much luck tracking them down, and many of their children seem to have dissapeared... well moved elsewhere, and I have not yet tracked them to where they settled. I too, have a William Henry Wallis in my tree, unfortunately, he does not match with yours. Well, we have the surname in common and a place of origin, perhaps one day we will connect. Thanks for your reply. Best regards, Tammy ---------original message---------- I am also researching the Wallace/Wallis Line from Halifax County VA. Tandy Wallace(born around 1787) married Mary Wells. One of their childrren was William Henry Wallace who married Narcissia Hall. They went to Dallas County Arkansas.
