Diancy's Father was John Wallace See Notes below for more info: Note: Diancy with her husband John and other family members moved from Louisana to Bremond, Texas about 1885. They bought property there and owned and operated a general store in Bremond. ! They also lived in other parts of Texas and Oklahoma where John may have died in Woodward Co. Oklahoma. After John died, Diancy (Dicy) traveled by train to visit her children in Colorado and New Mexico and probably Texas and La. In her old age she lived with her daughter who she out lived and then her grandaughter in Waco, Tex. untill her death in 1925 at the age of 95. Mrs. Autrey was a native of Mississippi. Dear Donna Autrey, My great grandmother's father was also John Wallace from Holmes County Mississippi. He was married to someone by the name of Necissa ( Narcissa, probably) and we don't know her maiden name. My great grandmother's name was Lucinda Coats Wallace and she was born in 1833 in Madison county, Ms. which was later partially included in Holmes County, Ms. She married my Great grandfather James Archer Wilkes in about 1855. Go to usgenweb.com and get into Holmes county, Ms. and check the cemeteries there---you might find some familiar names. If my great grandmother had any older sister or brothers, it is not know, but she certainly could have and we just don't know about them. She had a brother by the name of George Washington Wallace who fought for the Union during the War of Northern Agression and when he came back home, he was not popular, so he moved to Texas--Nesbit, Robertson County, Texas where he lived out his life. She had another brother by the name of John Frederick Wallace--he lived and died in Holmes County, Ms. She had a sister by the name of Susanna, born in 1834 Lucinda was born in 1833.
