One thought on your Hugh Wallace (mine was in Lunenburg VA in mid 1700s). In 1746 Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated by the English and it became a crime to wear a kilt or play the pipes. Many Scots immigrated to the USA between 1746-1785 when the law was repealed. Perhaps most of the Hughs came during that time period. Judy
