Hello, I am very new to all of this, but it has become an obsession of mine. I am looking for the parents of Sedley Clarendel Harris. I know he was born in TN, possibly the Sumner County Gallatin area. I have a lead that Sedleys mother was a Sarah WALLACE (a newspaper article describing the heirs of a Samuel Wallace list a Sarah Wallace as a sister to Samuel Wallace and she has a son listed as Sedley), I have seen secondary references list Sarah's husband as a James Wallace Harris, son of Thomas Harris and Rachel Wallace. If it helps I know Sedley left TN around 1834, bought property from the US in, or around Macupin IL in 1839 ( a James Wallace Harris bought in 1835), first shows up in IA around 1850, shows up in Missouri in 1860 census, and from 1870 on lives in or around Keokuk county, IA. I would be very grateful for help or possible leads. Thanks.
