    3. Sorry, We were yankees. Turned into raving abolitionists. We all stayed in PA and Ohio. There was a brother of Samuel's father who went to SC. His name was Hugh. I haven't reaearched him but last thing I heard no one could find him after he landed. If you have a story about 4 teen age brothers sneaking out of Scotland around 1750 and going to N Ireland because they got into trouble, we're related. (My Wallace's were always causing trouble of some sort) The only Wallace that is near my line was Hugh. Good luck hunting! 3. Helen, You seem to have done quite a bit of Wallace research. I was wondering if you may have run across some of my Wallaces in Pa. in your searching. My story from the family says that Charles Davis Wallace came to the states from Edenburgh, Scotland before 1800. He came with 2 brothers, John and William. I have been able to pick Charles up in Milford, Pike Co., Pa when he marries Hannah Newman around 1796 there. They have 4 children, Webb, Eli, Asa, Ira and Charles goes off to fight in the war of 1812 where he is killed in battle crossing Lake George in NY. Hannah then marries 2nd John Johnson from Ten Mile River, NY.then settles there. I do know that the Wallace brothers were in the wool and weaving business when they came to this country and one of the brothers invented a carding maachine, at least that is how the story goes. Have you any info on this family? Ann On 9/19/06, Helen Marshall <hm2@comcast.net> wrote: > > Sorry, We were yankees. 3. Nope but I do think my man might have died in the war of 1812.1) His bro served for one month in 1815. The probates Samuels will in Feb of 1815 (have copies of the probate) Brothers often picked up and finished anothers term of service when a brother died)2) there is a story about a Wallace dying of a heat stroke and being buried at sea in my family,3) I can't find anywhere where he is buried in Butler co. (he may be in an unmarked grave though) Try Cecil Co MD for info the library people are helpful and thats where lots of Wallaces originally came in the 1790's Helen -----Original Message----- From: wallace-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:wallace-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Ann Brown Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 6:09 AM To: wallace@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WALLACE] Samuel Wallace Butler Co PA Helen, You seem to have done quite a bit of Wallace research. 2. David Wallace
    3. Helen, My name is David Wallace from Adelaide South Australia. My Great Grandfather was Hugh Henry Wallace and his father's name was John. Hugh Henry we believe sailed to Australia from Belfast as a merchant seaman on the Rangoon and arrived in Port Adelaide in 1861. He was born in 1831. We believe his father John came from Glasgow so we are not sure when Hugh Henry moved to Belfast. It may have been just to catch his ship. I'm not sure whether any of this relates to your Hugh especially if they left Scotland in 1750. However one never knows!!
