To All Wallaces, I can, from my personal experiences, tell you that DNA analysis does definitely help. A potential cousin contacted me after seeing my Wallace-L query. Correspondence between us provided a lot of circumstantial evidence but we couldn't find any definite proof. About that time the Wallace DNA option became available and we both participated. The result was a 100% match on 26 DNA sites tested. We were now positive that we were descended from a common ancestor. Since that time I have, with help identified a Wallace in Scotland who has his ancestry back to the 1500 who shares a common ancestor with me. While I still have a lot of searching to do to prove the line, I know that I can trace forward the Wallace male descendants of the 1500s ancestor to find my line. I think this will be much easier than trying to go back in time. I have put this info out as a way of trying to say that if all of you Wallaces with male members available can submit your(their) DNA to help establish possible common lines of ancestry. It will tie together family lines and could provide a great help to those of you with Wallace brick walls. Your DNA submission is easy and will help all of us. Ed Wallace
