Looking for this Wallace group that is in Jackson Co, VA (later W VA) in the 1850 census. They move to Ray County, Missouri and most of the descendants stay in the area except a son, William Wallace. Here's some of what I have: 1. ROBERT1 WALLACE was born 1811 in Pa or Ireland. He married SARAH MCLEAN or McLain Notes for ROBERT WALLACE: Robert Wallace aka as Rob 1853 - Robert and family in Missouri. Daughter Sultana was born in Missouri around 1853. 1850- Located in Ray County, Knoxville Twsp, Knoxville Post Office, Missouri. Rob is a Hotel Keeper, The census shows Robert and wife Sarah born in Pennsylvania. 'They have a rather large family possibly several other children have already left home. The children include: Douglas 22 Farm Labor born in Va Henry C, 19 Farm Labor born in Va in School William 11 Farm Labor born in Va in School Charlott I4 born in Ohio in School Anna 11 born in Va in School Sultana 7 born in Mo Robert was known as "'Uncle Bob'' to all the people around. 1870- Now Bob is a farmer living in Ray County, Knoxville Twsp, Richmond Post Office, Missouri, His wife Sarah is keeping house, They show their birthplace to be Ireland for Rob and England for Sarah. Rob is eligible to vote. They have three daughters at home: Sarah A, born in Va in School Sultana born in Mo In School Charlotte born in Mo in School It is possible Charlott(born in Ohio)died between 1860-1870 because they named another daughter after her. The last Charlotte was born in 1861, They were living in Dwelling 330. Douglas Wallace (Son) and his family were living in Dwelling 273. William Wallace (Son) and his family were living in Dwelling 340. Ray County, Knoxville Twsp, Richmond Post Office, Missouri. Faily mythology states that Robs father worked in a glass Factory in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and Rob's parents came from ScotLand in 1811. We have no proof of this so far. Douglas McLains father and mother are listed as being born in Philadelphia. Pa on his death certificate, I'd like to know Robert's state or Country of origin as well as his ancestors. I have no idea where he is after 1870. Thanks for any help the list can give. Joe Baughman Wichita, KS
