Columbiana County Ohio Wallace Information Someone sent me copies of from the 1879 History of Columbiana Co. Ohio when I was searching for some information on the Wallace & Chetwynd Pottery in East Liverpool, Ohio. My great grandfather Hamilton Wallace bought his daughter a set of play dishes, which I have, they were made by the Wallace & Chetwynd Pottery in East Liverpool, Ohio which made me wonder if the Wallace families were related or was it just a coincidence. My Wallaces were in Chester Co. PA> Blue Rock Township, Muskingum Co. OH. I thought someone researching might find this helpful. Wallace family info from History of Columbiana Co. Ohio 1879 I think there must have been two men named William Wallace. William Wallace – ruling elder in Methodist meeting house on High Street in Centre Twp. The page with the township name was not sent. It is on page 131. However, William Wallace is listed ad a Trustee in 1863, 1864 and 1865. I think it may have been Elk Run as it is mentioned later. Township Treasurer – A. P. Wallace - 1871. Justice of the Peace – John Wallace William Wallace was a director of public school district No. 8 with 70 youth and receiving $59.54 from the state. Again a page is missing giving the name of the village (on page 143). This is regard to the layout of the village. “The village was laid out by Joshua Dixon in the spring of 1805, and embraced originally fifty-eight lots, on the southwest quarter of section 4. . . Other lots for village purposes, on the foregoing section lists William Wallace. . .” “Meantime, William Yates opened a store, making, in 1831, three in the village. At the Moody stand Joseph Wallace engaged in merchandising, and continued about thirty years.” William Wallace one of trustees of Presbyterian Church of Columbiana in 1879. William Wallace one of trustees in 1850 of Franklin Township organized in 1816. William Wallace one of trustees in 1858 and 1859 of St. Clair Township organized in 1803. The East Palestine United Presbyterian Church was organized in August 1842 in Unity Township. John Wallace was a ruling elder sometime between 1842 and 1879. Wayne Township – Robert Wallace and William Wallace are mentioned on p. 269. The previous page was not included so I do not know what the reference was. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church “made application for one of their number to administer the Lord’s Supper and organize an Associate Reformed Congregation in Wayne Twp. . .formed Aug 12, 1831 in a grove near Mrs. Fleming’s house. William Wallace was among those taking part in the first communion. Page 324 lists Wallace, Wm., son of Ezekiel and Mary (Boil) Wallace, b. Ireland, 1806, s. Columbiana Co. 1816, Farmer, p. o. add.
