I am looking for help on this family line- Shirley Wallace (male) born 12 March 1909 in Missouri Branch, Wayne County West Virginia, died 13 July 1997 in Columbus, Franklin Ohio. Shirley's wife is named Hessie A. Ferguson; I believed they married about 1927. Probably in Wayne County, West Virginia. I need help finding Shirley's parents- William M. Wallace and Laura Wilda Stroud. William was born 12 Jul 1876 in Donson? Kentucky; died 20 Nov 1949 in Lando Mines, Mingo County, West Virginia. He is buried in the Marcum Cemetery on Tick Ridge in Wayne County, West Virginia. ( I don't know if Lando Mines is a city or the name of the mine. I don't know how to search for mine records.) This information is from William's Death Certificate, I found at www.wvculture.org I am not sure of the place of birth. I cannot locate a Donson, Kentucky. I am not sure if I read the name right or if the city changed it's name. William's parents are listed on the death certificate as Tom Wallace and Elizabeth Brumfield. In the cemetery listing for William Wallace he is listed as the son of Brumfield Wallace. I cannot find these people anywhere. Laura Wilda Stroud was born 8 Feb 1880 probably in Patrick Gap, Lawrence, Kentucky; she died 21 Feb 1938. She is also buried in the Marcum Cemetery on Tick Ridge. Information also from www.wvculture.org Her parents are Gideon Stroud Sr (born Oct 1847 possibly in West Virginia died after the 1920 Census) and Elizabeth Marcum (born Apr 1851 also in West Virginia and died sometime after the 1920 Census) I have located 9 children for Gideon and Elizabeth and a few spouses. Would like to add more information. As for William Wallace, I have not found proof of who his parents were/are or any siblings. I did learn from a Great Uncle (whose sister married Everett Wallace, brother of Shirley Wallace) that William Wallace was a Bootlegger, he made moonshine. He worked in the mines and lived in Mingo and Wayne Counties in West Virginia. I would like to trace my Wallace and Stroud family farther back than the 1850's. Any help is appreciated. Christina
