    3. Since the list seems to be quite active right now, I thought I would post this information that I found in the courthouse in Zanesville Ohio about 14 years ago while researching my Wallace family. I took down the information because I didn't know if there was any relationship with my Wallaces or not. Still don't know of any connection but thought someone on the list might see a connection to their family. There are many blanks as it was very difficult to read. Seems to be in the 1860s. Let me know if anyone makes a connection. Otherwise, this is all the information I have on this family. 2. Trisha It is likely that somewhere in the mists of time they did originate from Scotland, but the records being what they are it is unklikely that we can prove it which is why I am always interested in what records etc others have used. Many on the my variaous lists seem to go back to 1200s and beyond but seeing there were no written records at that time I wonder where they have derived their info from or is it just assumption. One of my lines is Macdonald - however there can be many sons of a person named Donald ergo Mac Donald so when surnames came into being these many dads named Donald are not necessarly related however many people seem to want to tie them together but are unable to supply the legitimate and proven source from which they assumed their line or obtained their information. This also if from Robert Kaufman's Family Tree. I have this line descending from Adam Wallace b. abt 1240 Riccarton, brother of Malcolm b. abt 1220, father of Malcolm b. abt 1220 and Sir William. I base this on information I found in THE BOOK OF WALLACE by Rev. Charles Rogers, published in 1889, printed in Edinburgh. I found this publication in the collection copied and placed on line by Heritage Quest. I consider the work an excellent document chronically the Wallace line from about 1100 AD - although some date require interpolating. Are you more closely related to the Kaufman's than I am? 3. June, oh boy did i do a boo boo; was trying to finish answering some of the mail i received and ended up deleting yours. i think i remember what you had asked, at least part of it, lol Yes, i did start from the present, and went back. As i had mentioned being connected to the Wallace name, starting with my mother-in-law. {as she is the one i am doing the work for} Her grandmother was a Wallace, Martha Ann. Martha was born 11 June 1881 in Hardyville, KY. She died 19 March 1975 in Richfield, UT. Martha's first husband was Ellis Boston, and her 2nd husband was Alonzo King. From that, i found her father who was Melford Acel Wallace and mother, Mary Ann Henderson. And so on, in the same order that i had sent before. Right now i am stuck at William Wallace, born abt. 1500 in Elderslie, Scotland and his wife Janet Schaw born abt 1503 in Elderslie, Scotland. Some of the list of the names, i do not have all the children for them, but on most i do. I know that Sir William Wallace of Scotland had 2 brothers and someone mentioned maybe a sister. So i would presume that my line could be, connected to one of the brothers, or an uncle. But i am not sure on that. I would need to get this line back to the 1200-1300's, before i can find out exactly who this line is connected too. I hope that i can do that, but sure it will take me some time, as i cannot seem to get past the above 1500, William. I did find a Crest, but am not sure if it is the right one. And i did find 3 different colors as i had mentioned, and would like to find the color that connects this family, So far i have only found the 3, {red, green, blue} and want to find out which clan they belong too. From what i have been finding is, if i remember right, each color is for a different place {clan} of that area. The book that i want to put together for mom, i want to have the right color and crest on the front. With her Wallace place of origin. I have been working on Gen. for over 30 years now, but so far have only been able to finish 2 of the 5 lines that i have been working on. I have completed my Mabee line, which i have taken clear back to King George the V. And my Mayfield line, to the first Mayfield that came to the States. My oldest boy is a Hayden and his, i have the The one thousand year history of the Heydon, Haydon, Hayden, Family. I hope that some of the above info helps some, so sorry for tying up the list with my ramblings on. Dee --------------------------------- Discover Yahoo! 3. Hello, I am new here and so please forgive me if i make a mistake; I am trying to put together a small book for my mother-in-law; it is through her that the Wallace line comes. I will give you what names i have, in hopes that you may be able to help me in finding things to add to this book. I would love to add some different storys and anything else that i may find. Here are some of the names that we have been searching for: Margaret Reynolds/ Mayfield and Hanke Flora Myrtle Boston/ Reynolds Ellis Boston married Martha Ann Wallace Martha Ann also married Alonzo King, after the death of Ellis Boston Melford Acel Wallace/ Mary Ann Henderson {Melford has a twin brother, George Alfred} George Washington Wallace/ Rutha {Ruth} Clark William Wallace/ Elizabeth or Betsy Yates John Wallace/ Unknown Michael Wallace/ Elizabeth Brown William Wallace/ Elizabeth ?? {i have her being a Wallace also} William Wallace/ Margaret Burns or Barnes William Wallace/ Margaret Stewart John Wallace/ Margaret Hamilton William Wallace/ Janet Hamilton ?? William Wallace/ Janet Schaw Now i may have some of these families in the wrong spot, but this shows you what line i am trying to trace. I believe the line can be traced to either a brother or uncle of Sir William Wallace of Scotland. I hope to hear from anyone that knows of this line, in hopes that i can put together something .
