    1. Verifying Information Before Putting in Print
    2. Lisa Staley
    3. Just a thought... People should verify the information they put in print when researching their families. I have come across several "mistakes" in the "Family Trees" on the various Genealogy Websites on the Net. I call them "mistakes" because I'm assuming that they're unintentional, maybe just carelessness. Some of these "mistakes" are very obvious such as dates. People getting married and having children before they're born, etc. Other "mistakes" aren't so obvious, unless you have prior personal knowledge. Furthermore, some of these "mistakes" are very misleading and take several hours to unravel. Please everyone, be careful and verify, verify, verify, and please cite your sources. Anyone agree??? --------------------------------- Yahoo! for Good Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.

    1. My Brick Wall since 1982
    2. Hi All, I have been searching for a breakthough for a long time on my John Wallace. The first I have of him appears in 1850 in Carroll Co, OH. He was b.PA in either 1776 or 1782 depending upon which census you take. He died June 28, 1867 in Lee Tp, Carroll Co, OH and is buried Grandview Cemetery with a Mexican War Grave Marrker although Cemetery says it should be War of 1812. His 1st wife is unknown and is the mother of Joseph and my 2nd GGF James C Wallace. Any clues or help finding his parents and/or siblings greatly appreciated. I am also at a loss on descendendents of his son David. Here are my 1st 3 generation that I have on his families. He is living next door to James and Mary (Glass) Wallace and I'm told that this may be Peter's father but I have yet found the proof. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it greatly. 3. Dear Fellow Wallace Researchers: As many of you already know, Marjorie Priser decided a few weeks ago to downsize her genealogy library. I know this was a difficult decision for Marge because she has devoted many years to researching and sharing information about the Wallace line. I am fortunate to have become the keeper of Marjorie’s data. Fellow genealogists will understand what a rich and abundant gift this is! But it is also a heavy responsibility! The years of research, collecting, organizing and sharing is not something that should be filed away in a back room, held only by one person--nor will it. My commitment to Marge and to other researchers is to share this information as she has so generously done for many years. Therefore, this post is to offer to look up information by request within the Wallace data I hold. To assist with this, I ask that your email be sent to this address: Wallace_Surname@yahoo.com. I will not be able to answer emails sent to any other email address. Your email should contain as much information as possible about your request—the more you include the better the chance of my finding details to help you further your quest. Your email must also contain your email address and your name.. I won't respond to emails without a name. And I ask you to be patient. I have a full time job and genealogy is but one of my passions. I will gladly forego the bathroom cleaning, laundry, ironing, window and dog washing, but I can’t forsake the paying job. Research takes a great deal of time as many of you know. I promise to get to everyone---eventually!! I wish you success in your research and hope I can help. 3. Listers, Sunday evening I posted an e-mail asking for help in finding a new home for a collection of Wallace materials that I had accumulated over a period of several years and especially while I published a surname newsletter. I am happy to report that I have found a very able researcher who has assured me that she will care for and use the materials in the best way possible to benefit others. In the near future, the new caretaker will notify folks on this list that they are ready to accept look-ups. Thanks to all of you who made suggestions and offered help.
