Does anyone know anything about William John Wallace of Ireland? He married Elizabeth Reid. His son is Robert Wallace, who was born 2 Mar 1873 in Rasharkin, Antrim, Ireland. Robert married Francis Mary Hoffman in 1902. Francis was born 17 Mar 1884 in Berlin Germany and died 8 Dec 1942 in Elyria, Ohio. If anyone can help me out with information about my family, I'd sure appreciate it. Thank you for your time. Gary

Hello, In tracing back my roots, my maternal Grandmother Janet Wilson immigrated to US in 1891 with her mother, Mary Black Wilson . MAry was the daughter, of Lucy (Ann) Wallace Black, who married John Black, (of Guernsey), in the Parish of Barony, 03 Jul 1842. Ann Wallace was the daughter of Alex. Walace and Janet Ritchie, who wed 9th Dec, 1798 in Cluny. Any similarities ? I imagine Ann born Isobel (Ann) (Lucy) 25th Feb, 1813 b. Parish of Cluny, had older and younger siblings. I trace the earlier marriage of Alex. Wallace to Janet Ritchie in Cluny on 9th Dec, 1798 Regards and thank You, Paul Francis, USA
Greetings - I am a new subscriber and a descendent of Oscar Kelly Wallace. I noticed while browsing the archives (2000 and earlier) that members were looking for information on Oscar Kelly and his descendents. I will be glad to share what I have and would like to correspond with members researching the Tolivers and their ancestors. Best regards, Blanche Wallace Orlando, FL
Hello, I am very new to all of this, but it has become an obsession of mine. I am looking for the parents of Sedley Clarendel Harris. I know he was born in TN, possibly the Sumner County Gallatin area. I have a lead that Sedleys mother was a Sarah WALLACE (a newspaper article describing the heirs of a Samuel Wallace list a Sarah Wallace as a sister to Samuel Wallace and she has a son listed as Sedley), I have seen secondary references list Sarah's husband as a James Wallace Harris, son of Thomas Harris and Rachel Wallace. If it helps I know Sedley left TN around 1834, bought property from the US in, or around Macupin IL in 1839 ( a James Wallace Harris bought in 1835), first shows up in IA around 1850, shows up in Missouri in 1860 census, and from 1870 on lives in or around Keokuk county, IA. I would be very grateful for help or possible leads. Thanks. Bill You can search for soldiers discharge papers on this site. You may be able to identify your William. Or else you would need to seach the regiment history to see which ones served in Ireland. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/default.asp When I re read your email I see you were searching for the maiden name of Williams wife. I had fired off my email without reading yours carefully enough. Army records did not show marriage details. I hope I have not lead you astray. Don't give up Bill Bill, I have a Wallace line and mine came from Scotland as well. And about the time your's came I think. Charles Davis Wallace came with 2 brothers William and John Wallace. Exact date not known In Edinburgh they were wool manufacturers. In this country they engaged in similar business. One brother invented a carding machine. Charles settled in Milford Pa and about 1800 married Hannah Newman. He was killed in the war of 1812 .while crossing Lake George in New York State. He had had 4 boys with Hannah by then Webb, Eli, Asa & Ira . She married 2nd John Johnson. and went to live in Ten Mile River. I am decended from Webb...their oldest boy. I am trying to find John and Willam that came over with Charles Davis Wallace. Will any of this fit in your tree ?
