I am seeking researchers with connections to Wallaces in County Kilkenny, Ireland. My line is Michael Wallace b. abt. 1830 in Molum, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland(southern portion of the county). Parents and siblings names unknown. Married to Mary Theresa Butler, daughter of John and Mary Butler in Molum in 1857. Lived in Roachestown, Co. Kilkenny until immigration to USA in 1871-1874. Jean, Ohio, USA
Abraham came from Berkely County West Virginia, I'm not sure about Olive Wallace. They were married in Atchison County Missouri, had all there children there, died and were buried there. There has been several suggestions as to where she was born Pennsylvania and Ohio were two of them. Thanks for showing me my mistake. Michael Woods and Elizabeth Woods Wallace were a brother and a sister who migrated with their families from Ireland/United Kingdom in the late 1600's to the America. From what I have read, it sounds like they came to America through a seaport in Pennsylvannia. Some of the members of these families migrated to Virginia and then to the different places of the eastern seacoast and then to the Northwestern Territorrial Areas. There is a book that has been written about these two families. I am very interested in learning name of this book. Can anyone help me find the name of the book? _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live Spaces is here! Hi Myra, I have a copy of a portion of a book titled "History and Genealogies of the Families of Miller, Woods, Harris, Wallace, Maupin, Oldham, Kavanaugh and Brown" by W.H. Miller - Richmond, KY 1907. It includes the family of Peter Wallace, a Scottish Highlander born about 1680, who died in Ireland and his wife, Elizabeth Woods who along with their children and Elizbeth's Woods brothers came to this country in the early 1700's, landing in a Pennsylvania Port. The Wallace children migrated on throughout Virginia, Kentucky, etc. I believe that is the book you are looking for. Sharron found this book on Heritage Quest on line which you probably can access through your local library. Through the Wallace DNA project, I have learned that this is my line. Through which family members I don't know. This book of which you speak, may offer some clues. Hoping to hear if someone knows of this book. Dear Wallace Cousins, I want to introduce myself to you as the new Manager of the Wallace DNA Project. I look forward to working together, and to discovering new links among Wallace/Wallis ancestors. A new website will be created for the Wallace DNA Project which will contain lineage information to better identify the ancestral lines which are represented in our DNA project. Several individuals are poised and ready to join the Wallace DNA Project, so new DNA matches will no doubt occur soon. This is exciting! By way of background, I manage two other DNA projects and have a fair understanding of this great scientific tool to help discover our correct ancestral lines. These two projects were among the first with Family Tree DNA several years ago, and one of them is quite large. I am excited about the Wallace DNA Project, and really look forward to working with all of you. If you have been waiting to join the Wallace-Wallis DNA Project until there was some activity and interest, now is the time! Let's get this show on the road and break through some of those brickwall ancestors! Best regards, Sharron Spencer Wallace DNA Project Manager
There is a link to an email address for the group administrator mywebtree"@yahoo.com;WallaceDNA@aol.com at this site:http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.asp?code=J82955&special=True&projecttype=S Perhaps it is a dead email address but it is worth a try. I don't know why they don't have a contact on the Wallace DNA site. June J. Sharron Spencer wrote: > Does anyone know where the lineages of the participants in the Wallace > DNA project are shown? There is a page at http://www.wallacedna.org/home.htm with a link to a page that lists the results, but it is not up-to-date and does not given any information about ancestors. I don't know who is now administering the group. Charlie >Does anyone know where the lineages of the participants in the >Wallace DNA project are shown?
