    3. Clifford, You say you have several other John Wallace's from that same time peroid ?>??? I'm interested in one that may have come from Scotland with 2 brothers. One Charles Davis Wallace and the other William. Together the three were in the wool weaving and mill industry in Scotland and here as well.. One of the brothers invented a carding machine. Haven't been able to track that down yet. Charles married Hannah Newman in Milford, Pa and they had 4 boys and before they were 10 he goes off to fight in the war of 1812 and is killed. Any connection to that family. Ann Wallace Cook Brown. 2. Hi, My Rachel Wallace, from her portrait, appears to have American Indian ancestry. This could be seen in my father, too. Perhaps Jesse Wallace was related somehow to John or Barnabus Wallace. His father came to SC from Virginia . His ancestry was Scottish. Perhaps we are distantly related. Best wishes, Tom Ross

    3. Helen, My name is David Wallace from Adelaide South Australia. My Great Grandfather was Hugh Henry Wallace and his father's name was John. Hugh Henry we believe sailed to Australia from Belfast as a merchant seaman on the Rangoon and arrived in Port Adelaide in 1861. He was born in 1831. We believe his father John came from Glasgow so we are not sure when Hugh Henry moved to Belfast. It may have been just to catch his ship. I'm not sure whether any of this relates to your Hugh especially if they left Scotland in 1750. However one never knows!! 3. I was very fortunate in that I had a great aunt that did a lot of research and wrote it all down. Followed my Charles Wallaces's wife back to the Mayfllower and got documentation and was in the Mayflower Society. I had the info and didn't know it. I thought it was just research and I was hot on the trail of someone else when I received it. Thought, well she has done that branch so I don't have to worry about that right now. Good Golly, I never expected all that info. though very glad to have it. You have a William and John, but then there is that Hugh that is not fitting with my boys, at least as I know the story. and they were definitely into the textile industry. 3. The info I have states that there were 4 brothers,John, William, James and Hugh. William settled near Goshen NY, James near Philadelphia and Hugh in SC. My ancestor John started in Cecil Co MD and then went to Butler Co PA which is the county north of Pittsburg. There were also Wallaces in Beaver Co. which is next to Butler. I have never heard of any of my Wallaces that were weavers. All farmers, store owners, preachers and rable rowsers. There are lots and lots of Wallaces in Ohio. I am related to almost all of them in Morgan and Muskingam Co. When your ancester has 12 kids, this happens. If you have any Wallaces in Ohio, especially in these counties the historical societies are very helpful. Good luck in your hunting. It has taken me 5 years to find Samuel's name and I still can't find his birthdate, his wife's last name or anything about their kids. I still would like more definitive info on Samuel than "thought to be the son of John Wallace." 3. Mine all came from N Ireland to Cecil Co. MD to Butler Co PA. There were quite a few Wallaces in MD though. I have gotten some info from the Cecil Co MD board. -----Original Message----- From: wallace-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:wallace-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of patroon@peoplepc.com Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 6:22 AM To: wallace@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WALLACE] Samuel Wallace Butler Co PA If I may come in on this discussion, I have a Jane Wallace Munnel who came to Pa. with her husband in 1700's. 3. Nope but I do think my man might have died in the war of 1812.1) His bro served for one month in 1815. The probates Samuels will in Feb of 1815 (have copies of the probate) Brothers often picked up and finished anothers term of service when a brother died)2) there is a story about a Wallace dying of a heat stroke and being buried at sea in my family,3) I can't find anywhere where he is buried in Butler co. (he may be in an unmarked grave though) Try Cecil Co MD for info the library people are helpful and thats where lots of Wallaces originally came in the 1790's Helen -----Original Message----- From: wallace-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:wallace-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Ann Brown Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 6:09 AM To: wallace@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WALLACE] Samuel Wallace Butler Co PA Helen, You seem to have done quite a bit of Wallace research.
