My Wallace ancestors came from Perthshire, Scotland and settled in Hopewell Twp, York Co. PA around 1734. Have info to share and always need more. Here is a sample Alexander (1699-1767) married Agnes Campbell; both born in Scotland Wilbur Wallace. Christiana Wallace, married William Wilson. Margaret Wallace, married Archibald Thompson. Elizabeth Wallace, married Thomas Grove. Ebrium Wallace, married Janet McCullough. Sarah Wallace, married Andrew Proudfit. 1. James W Wallace, (1722-1777); married Janet Hamilton. Jean Wallace, (1731-1811); married (1) Guian (Gavin) Allison 1755; married (2) Samuel Martin in 1785. 1. Children of James W Wallace (b 1722) and Janet Hamilton are: 2.1 Alexander Wallace, born 1766; married Ann Collins 2.2 David Wallace, born 1768; married Mary Manifold Elizabeth Wallace, born March 30, 1774 2.1 Children of Alexander Wallace (b 1766) and Ann Collins are: 3. James Wallace, born October 26, 1788, married Catherine Gemmill Janet Wallace, born May 21, 1791 William Wallace, born October 29, 1792 Alexander Wallace, born September 04, 1796 Andrew Wallace, born March 28, 1799; married Margaret Gemmill Ann Wallace, born December 02, 1801. 3. Children of James Wallace (b 1788) and Catherine Gemmill Robert G Wallace, born 1817, married Agnes Gemmill William Wallace, born 1822, married Jeanette Gemmill James W Wallace, born 1825, married Jane Cross John T Wallace, born 1826, married Millie Ann Gibson 2.2 Children of David Wallace (b 1768) and Mary Manifold Janet Wallace, born 1795 Ellenore Wallace, born 1796 Eliza Wallace, born 1798 Joseph Wallace, born 1800 James Wallace, born 1801 James (b 1801) son of David and Mary was a minister in the Presbyterian Church. In 1832 he was called to preach in Logan Co, Ohio from the Carolinas. He married Jane Pollock of Washington Co, PA in 1833. They had 5 children but I only know the names of two: William P Wallace, the eldest was killed at Knoxville, TN during the war and David G Wallace (b 1839) became a farmer in Logan Co, Ohio. I have no more info on this branch but mentioned it because they migrated outside of York Co, PA. Others probably moved also, but I have no info on them. I am a direct descendant of James W (born 1825) and Jane Cross. Jane died during childbirth of my great-grandfather, James Gemmill Wallace who was born in 1851. James W married again to Abby Jordon. James W. was a doctor but died young in 1855. Abby died in 1859 which left James G to be raised by two aunts. James G. married Rebecca Elizabeth Murphy. They had 6 children and lived in York, PA. One son, George Murphy Wallace married Gertrude Lydia Hibner (my grandparents). They had 12 children. I'll be glad to go into more detail with anyone who has a connection. I tried to stay with just the Wallace surnames but I do have some descendant info on the female side. Also there are several sets of twins in the family in case that "rings any bells". From Ann Kathryn Wallace Palmer, currently living in Oak Ridge, NC
I am still searching for any descendants of Fletcher WALLACE, b. abt 1903 in Dunklin Co. Mo. He was the son of John A. WALLACE, b. 1865 and his second wife Linnie ( Birdie) Ednister. He had an older sister named Flora, b. 1898 in Dunklin Co.MO and an older half brother, Andrew Jackson WALLACE, b. 1891 in Clarkton, Dunklin Co. MO. At this time, I don't know what happened to this family after 1910. I have information on this WALLACE family dating back to 1776, but I still need to find my father's half brother, Fletcher. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Shirley Wallace Norton Humble, Texas Email: shirley.norton@psl-online.com ... Catch the Blue Wave! ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12
CJ "John Carlton of Orange Co....." by Lt. Col. George Carlton, Page 120 My 2grgf is Lewis Millard Carlton and 2grgm is third wife, Martha Cowling. Found her parents burial site in Mineral Springs, AR cem(in town) near site of organizer for Dillard's, Inc(retail stores), and have been to Lewis and Martha's burial site at Sardis Cem. north of Stamps, AR See page 123, second paragraph "Lewis did not...." By luck while in abstract office recently in Magnolia, AR(Columbia CO) researching land for another 2grgf, found his land in Clay TWN about one mile due west(of Friendship) See page 124. In 1994 I stopped at a house near old homesite where Lewis was murdered in 1895. A gentleman said his family lived near this site then, his father found a gun on his land shortly after murder, and his grandparent was one who told Carlton to get rid of safe. He told the story like it was the most interesting event in 99 years in that small area. And he pointed to the land next to his and told where another of my kin's wife was raised. Page 126- issue of Lewis M. and Martha- Laura Sudie Carlton lived until 1951, died in Hope, AR, was my maternal grgm, married Reuben Ragland Cornelius(1866-1941) and they lived in Mars Hill,Cornelius, McKamie, Hope, and Fulton, AR
My Grandfather was Daniel Webster Wallace, born 3/19/1854 in Gallia, Ohio. He married Cynthia Ann Wood (born 4/20/1857, Greenup, Ky) in Boyd, Ky, 1/7/1876. (parents: Andrew Jackson Wood and Margaret McMahan) Daniel's father was John D. Wallace, born 1805, in Clay, VA. John married Sarah (or Sally) Faulkner, (born 1810 in Jackson, Oh) 3/25/1832 in Gallia, Oh. John's father was Andrew J Wallace, and I have no information on him. John & Sarah had 10 children, all born in Greenfield Twn, Gallia, Oh between 1834 and 1854. My information on all siblings but Daniel is pretty slim. The youngest, Daniel, and wife Cynthia had 4 children born in Star Furnace, KY, 2 born in Willard, Carter, Ky, and 2 born in Hollister, Athens, Oh. between 1879 and 1898. The youngest of these was my father, Daniel Lawerence Wallace, who died in 1983. I would appreciate any help in finding more information on both the Wallace and Wood sides of my family.

My family has a William Wallace who is said to have come over in the late 1700s to Pendelton District, South Carolina, He married an Elizabeth ? there. One son, James b. 1776, another child possibly stillborn, then the William and Elizabeth went to Nova Scotia after the Revolution. 12-13 more children born there. I am trying to find information on Helena Brigitta "Hypolita" Wallace born 14 Aug 1748 in Dublin, Ireland. The family then went to Scotland, then to the US. Maybe they went to the Carolinas, then to Florida. Some records say when she was 4 years old they went to Florida. One note indicates they may have gone to Penn. She married Thomas Berwick 14 April 1768 either in Carolina or in Florida. There are records of bothe. She died 28 Mar 1789 at Berwick Bay, La. I am researching the Berwick and Wallace family. I have information all the way back to this Thomas and some information on him. I know he was born either in Penn or Scotland. I can go no futher on the Berwicks than this nor can I go any futher on the Wallace family. I have done extensive research in Texas and La. I have contacted several Ber/Burwick cousins and we all seem to be stumpted at this point on these two people. (By the way the Berwicks and Burwicks are all related. We have traced the name change to census takers) Thanks, Frances Peoples fpeop@flex.net At 08:11 AM 6/20/97, you wrote: >Wallace Cousins, > > >Cousin Chuck wants YOU... > > ___ > _(___)_ WWWWW WW \\// /// >()' `() -- -- |o o| / \ / \ / \ > . o o`.
