I am trying to find information on an Eaton Wallace. I read your email to the Wallace group and I thought maybe since you had researched so far back that maybe you had him on your list. When I started researching I thought It would be easy to find because of the name but not so. Information I have. Eaton was born 1802 in NC. He married Louisa Page in Davidson County, TN 1 Jan 1824. I found him on the Desota County, Ms 1850 Census and that is the last place I have him. His daughter Harriett Amanda Wallace married James Henry Martin in 1850 in Desota County, MS. He had eight other children: Sopia, Elizabeth, william, Shiadri, Benjamine, James, John, Louisa. If you have any information on Eaton please share with me. Thank you, Brenda

All this time I have been looking for John T WALLACE married to Dovie DOVER in Georgia. This was based on information from my now deceased uncle. On a recent trip to Salt Lake City I viewed two different census records and made a big discovery. There was a William WALLACE married to Dovie with all the same names for the children as per information from my uncle. Moral of the story? Yes, be sure that your grandchildren know your name not just what they call you. Does anyone know this family of WALLACE who lived in the vicinity of Polk County, GA. late 1800s to early 1900s? William and Dovie were married about 1887 probably in Georgia. These are my great grandparents. Thank you, Melba
With 152 subscribers, I would think that at least one of you folks would have something on my William Wallace who married Rachel Humphries in Greenbriar, County WV on 15 December, 1831. He was born 7 April, 1807 and I sure would like to know who his parents were. They called him "Buck" and he had brothers who moved to Iowa with him around 1840-1850 by the name of Woodson and James. Will share any information I have on him after his move to Iowa, which is quite a bit. Drop me a line if anyone sees anything that looks familiar. Thanks,
Wallace Cousins, Congratulations !! I check this morning and we are "152 subscribers" strong! 129 subscribed in "MAIL" mode 23 subscribed in "DIGEST" mode Keep up the good work! Chuck Carter

My mother traced us back to Vermont (and Massachusetts) in thr 1600s. The name was Wallis. I can get more details but here's a question: anybody know of the Wallis' being there at that time? Any lineage to Leonard Wallis? -- Steven Rollinson Wallace Yep, I've got some that go back from St Lawrence Co, NY (1800's) to Stamford, Bennington Co, VT (late 1790ish-1810ish) then back to Adams, Berkshire, Mass then back to Sutton Mass where Rev. soldier Samuel WALLICE (sometimes also WALLIS but rev pension is filed WALLICE) came from, (b. 1755) then back to Douglas Mass to John WALLIS, Jr. and John WALLIS, Sr. Don't recall seeing a Leonard in there anywhere but I'll check my notes. Any lineage to Leonard Wallis? -- Steven Rollinson Wallace -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subj: Re: A.R. Wallace From Barbara Wallace to me ............. Now if you want a real challenge, it is to find any living Rollinsons or Rawlinsons who remain alive either in the USA or the UK.-- and can be linked to our family. Though you do not bear their surname, they are as much a part of your heritage as the Wallaces. Because of extensive intermarriage, you probably have more Jenney "blood" than Wallace. That is another line I am actively researching -- with some success. In those endeavors, I am on the "cutting edge" whereas our Wallace ancestors are pretty well documented - not that more work might not bear fruit. http://www.clark.net/pub/larrys/wallace/wallace.htm

I have been able to trace my Wallace ancestry back to my GrGrGrandfather James C Wallace b. 7 Sep 1832 but then lose track. I don't know his parents or siblings. He married Mary Eckley 27 Sep 1849 in Carroll Co, OH and had children: *Harvey 1850 m.Agness Amanda Wright, raised family Beaver Co, PA Samilda 1851 m.John Smith Martha Jane 1855 m.George Wright George 1857 moved to Clark Co, OH abt 1904 (?) James Howard 1863 moved to Cincinnatti (?), OH abt 1905 Amanda 1867 m.Elmer Milliron William 1869 ??? * my line It would really be great if I could find a connection. James moved his family to Beaver Co, PA after the Civil War and the last 2 children probably born there, with the others born in Carroll Co, OH. The family was on the 1870 PA Census for Ohioville, Beaver Co. Bob Wallace in IL
