My gg grandfather, Thomas Wallace, was born in 1812 in Chilliclothe, Oh. Do you see any connection? He had a brother-in-law whose last name was Davis.
Cousins, Apparently, SpryNet made some changes over the weekend that altered my email address "without" notifying me. My email address has been shortened or simplified to: cetracer@interserv.com dropping off the "m4" from after the @ sign. Strangely, this was my address up until about 8 months ago when they deceided how nice it would be to add the "m4". So now, the take it off and shorten it back. Beats me, but if you send anything to the "m4" location, I understand the messages are being returned "User Unknown", so please make the changes accordingly. Chuck Carter

I seem to be up against "a brick wall" with my Wallace line. I can't seem to find any information on my great great grandfather, William Green Wallis. I have his marriage certificate to Catherine Goddard dated Dec. 17, 1841 in Jefferson Co., IL. I have my great grandfather's Civil War records which state his mother, Catherine died in 1851 in IL and that his father had died or had left the family before he was 7 years of age. He, George Washington Wallace, was born March 22, 1844. George was then raised by an Aunt Nancy and Uncle Mike Wallis. Nancy was also a Goddard. At this point, I would like to hear from anyone researching the Wallace family in IL, KY, or Tenn. I believe the name Green stands out in this family line, as my grandfather was named Green Washington Wallace. Is the name "Green" repeated in anyone else's Wallis/Wallace line? I'm just trying to piece anything I can together to get a lead on this family. Linda Linda Mondy 15395 Slab Springs Dr. Licking, Missouri 65542 U.S.A. 573-674-3798

In a message dated 97-07-05 16:20:58 EDT, you write: << WALLACE-L@rootsweb.com >> Hi everyone, my name is Nance and I am co-owner of a Scot-Celt-Medieval History list that used to be known as the Wallace list. We have over 300 members, no geneology though. I am a Clan Historian my partner is a Scottish and Medieval History Historian. I am interested in finding my grandmother's family. Her name was Imogene Wallace and she married Issac M. Corkill (MacCorkill) in or near Cincinnati, Ohio. She had a sister Nellie who was married to a (fellow named) Jim and they owned a bakery in Middletown, Ohio. I met her when I was quite young and years later met Grandpa Wallace, my great grandfather, he was in his late 80's in approximately 1955. I am very interested in finding her family. I have traced all my other family members and I am a member of Clan Gunn and Clan MacLeod of Lewis (cousin clans) and my mother was a Marshall (Keith Clan. I have a grandmother Randolph, and a great grandmother who was Mary (Morie Chattan). If anyone out there knows of Nellie Wallace (can't remember her married name) from the Middletown, Ohio area, I would be very interested in writing to you. Meantime, if any of you are interested, I have 14 web sites, although AOL has messed up about three of them and I will be correcting them this week. I am putting a menu page hyper link (in blue) and if you click on it, it should take you to the Menu page. <A HREF="http://members.aol.com/Sconem ac/Skye.html">"Menu Page"</A> from there all my sites are interlinked and also linked to my partner Skyelander's history sites. Hi! I'm new to this list so let me start by saying I sure am glad to find a Wallace list as this is one of my tough lines to research. I'll give what information I have (some of it is unreliable) and would like to hear back from anyone who might have a connection to this line. I won't be as helpful in return as I would like to be as I have very little to go on. Thanks in advance! Kathy\ PERMELIA WALLACE b. 1811 Christian Co., KY d. 1910 Polk Co., MO m.
