    3. Molly, I saw you made a reference to Oliver Wallace in your today's message.. My line is also from Oliver Wallace but not this one. In York Co SC in the late 1700's there were 3 head of households by the name of Oliver Wallace. One was born in County Tyrone est. 1734 and came to South Carolina in 1773, spouse unknown. The Oliver m. a McNabb supposedly came from VA and the third Oliver we do not know much about except he was sentenced to death. My line is OliverWallace from County Tyrone -William-James-Toliver-Toliver. The last Toliver was in Cobb Co Ga in the 1880 census with his wife Eliza Jane Rainey and son Oscar K. and the elder Toliver. My line continues with the son Luckey Dallas Wallace b. 1881 Marietta, GA and d. 1921 Brooklyn NY to the present. There were other siblings, Edna Geneva b. 1895, Rev. T.H., Rev. J.D. per obituary of Luckey Dallas Wallace and 3 other daughters. Need information and gladly share what information I have. Henny Carlisle

    3. Think many are from this Augustus, and now know Shell. I have been slowing compiling all my notes on Georgia Wallaces so I can post it to the list... I do have from my memory a William Wallace who died in Greene Co., Ga.about 1801. I have extracted those Wallace from the microfilm...but don't believe that this guy had any children young enough to be needing guardians appointed for them. I recently came across information that leads me to believe The Clarke Co., Georgia Wallace line perhaps had ties in Augusta Co., Va. because his wife was an McNabb..this would be Oliver Wallace. I also know that Chalkley's notes on line you can view at the Augusta Co., Va. online has a Wallace family that struck me as perhaps the same as that that went on into the Greene/Clarke Co., Ga. area...which all did at one time be common ground. Believe the widow's name of this William died about 1801 Greene Co., Ga. was Fanny. Whether this could be Augustus' grandparents I do not know. I can recall she (Fanny) won the land lottery in 1805/7 or so for land somewhere else. My husband's William Wallace (d. 1837 in Newton Co., Ga.) had children similar named as below, but they were common names in the census in general for this time period. I know that the Wallace who died married the Mitchell, seen posted on here frequently, had a daughter named Denney Owens. She, though, is in the Newton Co., Georgia records applying for the guardianship of Rachel because she is "insane" and wasting the estate. This really means she was probably just becoming senile...I think the Newton Co., Ga. group has numerously posted to this forum. Will post more later. ----- Original Message ----- From: "rozzell" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 13, 2000 7:43 AM Subject: [WALLACE-L] WALLACE > Augustus WALLACE born ca. 1804 Greene County, Georgia. 3. My Grandmother ORA MARIE WALLACE SYMONS died sometime around 1943. Her Father was the president of Michigan Sugar, WILLIAM HENRY WALLACE. He is supposed to have 2 wives (one at a time - thank you.) and I am wondering about that. His family was into Genealogy and I have found a obit from CATHERINE WALLACE HAND. That is where I got the Michigan Sugar part. She died 10/5/1998. Someone who survived her at least knew she descended from WILLIAM H. WALLACE and his father ROBERT WALLACE b. in Scotland and moved to the "thumb" of Michigan. Family Myth had it that ORA MARIE WALLACE was of the first wife, maybe even the oldest. She was born in the 1880. I have no names for the wives. I hope this rings a bell for someone. And Hands researching the Wallace Tree? Myra

    1. [WALLACE-L] John WALLACE - York Co, SC
    2. Lee Mathis
    3. Hello, Wallace Cousins... I haven't posted the family I'm researching in a while, so here goes... Several Wallace Cousins are looking for any information on the Thomas WALLACE family. Thomas was born in York Co, SC about 1795 and moved to Lauderdale Co, AL around 1819-1820. There is strong circumstantial evidence that his father was a John WALLACE from York Co, SC who died in York Co in 1816. Further, we believe we have identified the following as John WALLACE's other children: - John WALLACE - Sarah/Sally WALLACE m. Cornelius FARRIS 8 Sep 1823, Lauderdale Co, AL - Casy/Cassy WALLACE m. Samuel FARRIS 20 Feb 1826, Lauderdale Co, AL - Catherine WALLACE (>1805 - ) m. William JONES 15 Jan 1828, Lauderdale Co, AL - Samuel WALLACE (>1805 - ) - William WALLACE (suspect). We are more interested in Thomas's parents/grandparents than his descendants. However, here is some info about Thomas's family: Thomas WALLACE (~1795 - 1874) m. Sarah _____. Their children were: - 1 Alexander McCuin WALLACE (1810 - >1870) m. Malinda THORNTON (~1815 - ) 27 Oct 1834, Lauderdale Co, AL - 2 James WALLACE (~1813 - <1870) m. Caroline Lucinda ANDERSON (1816 - <1870) 27 Jan 1836, Florence, Lauderdale Co, AL - 3 Thomas Shelby WALLACE (~1815 - <1876) - 4 Mary S. WALLACE (~1815 - ) m. Lemuel MONTGOMERY 28 Aug 1837, Lauderdale Co, AL - 5 Hettie F. WALLACE (~1817 - ) m. William E. DAVIS 1 Aug 1835, Lauderdale Co, AL - 6 John Burris WALLACE (~1825 - 1876) m. Emily P. MARRS (~1825 - >1870) 9 Jan 1845, Lauderdale Co, AL - 7 Salenius M WALLACE (1828 - >1870) m. Nancy Caroline ROBERSON (~1832 - ) 1851, probably Tennessee - 8 Harrison Kendrick WALLACE (~1830 - >1876) - 9 Samuel J. WALLACE (1833 - ) If any of this looks familiar, please send me a note... Thanks, Lee Mathis Arlington, VA
