Pam, These Oliver Wallaces are very difficult to research. There were three head of household by the name of Oliver Wallace all of Chester or York Co, SC at the same time. I have a copy of your Oliver Wallace's will, Oliver Wallace, was married to a Judith possibly Berry. They had a son Oliver Berry Wallace b. 1788 who was a minor when his father died, and 3 unnamed daughters The will was signed 17 July 1789 (York Co, SC?) I recall a mention of Sarah S. Wallace, a daughter, who married John Kidd. Henny Carlisle
new to list. Looking for informaton on parents of Oliver wallace father to Sarah Savina Wallace and Oliver Berry Wallace. One source says he is OW JR and another says his dad is James Wallace. also, did Oliver ever make it to Old Campbell County GA? Or just Sarah Savina "Sally" Wallace, his daughter? Old Campbell County GA is looking for their PIONEERS and I don't know if Olive is the pioneer or Sarah. Can anyone help? Also, is Sarah's mother Judith Berry? If not, do you know who? Pam

I visited Pea Ridge National Military Park this past weekend and the park ranger was nice enough to xerox a page of WALLACE Confederate Soldiers that were buried in AR. I only have page 307 of the HUGE hand-typed book they had in the gift shop. If anyone really wants to purchase that book ($45.00 and only 1 copy), I can send you the Park address. Page 306 also had a couple of WALLACE's that I didn't get... I have typed it below EXACTLY how it is in the book. Cousins, Just a quick note to tell all of you, just in case some of you didn't know, but the History Channel is going to have a one (1) hour program on this evening on the series Histories Mysteries about what the call " The True Story about William Wallace", and not the Hollywood version presented by Mel Gibson. The program is scheduled to air at 7:00 Central and 8:00 Eastern. Unfortunately, I will still be here at the office, but I set the VCTR to record it for me. I hope that it's an interesting show with more fact and not fiction. Charles E. Claire, Your WALLACES sound very familiar to me. I checked my data base and I have a Robert Bruce WALLACE that was married to a Rachel Hughes. They had the following children. ; William Hughes Wallace m. Sarah Hl. Shown Madison Wallace Charles WALLACE b. ca. 1800-1810 Rachel WALLACE M. 1ST. Francis Peterson, 2nd Daniel Wycoff Mary Ann WALLACE m. Aaron RUGGLES Alexander WALLACE M. Nancy Ann WYCOFF Matthew WALLACE Robert Bruce Wallace is not my direct line but is the brother to my ancestor William Wallace. My ancestor followed the same path. Lived in Ohio Co. KY, then went to Indiana for a number of years and finally moved to Coles CO. Illinois I don't have anything on Charles WALLACE or who he married. Does this look like the same Wallace family ? If it is the same family , I would like to get the information you have on Charles. Shirley Wallace Norton [email protected]

1830 WALLACE, JOHN F., Daviess Co., IN, page 385 1830 WALLACE, JOHN, Daviess Co., IN, page 380 1830 WALLACE, CHARLES JACKSON, Daviess Co., IN, page 389 My ancestor is Charles Jackson Wallace listed above - and I have the information on him from this census. He married Levina Peterson in Daviess Co., on 1 June 1826. Per a genealogy by J.M Behle of Indiana, I have placed Charles in the family of Robert Bruce Wallace and Rachel Hughes Wallace. However, I am now wondering about this for the following reasons. Charles and Levina had the following children: William Arthur Wallace, born 1827, Indiana John F. Wallace, born 1829, Indiana Catherine A. Wallace, born 1833, Indiana Margaret J. Wallace, born 1836, Illinois (probably Coles, Co.) Charles B. Wallace, born 1838, Illinois (probably Coles, Co.) Levina's parents were in all probability, William Peterson and Catherine Bruce who were married in Bracken Co., KY in 1808 and lived in Adams Co., Ohio before migrating to Daviess Co. where they appear on the 1830 Census. William Peterson purchased land in Daviess about 1818, and again in 1823. If we go by naming patterns in this case, oldest son named after wife's father, oldest daughter named after wife's mother, second son named after husband's father, second daughter named after husband's mother, we could think that Charles parents were John and Margaret Wallace. I see that there are two John Wallace families in the 1830 Daviess Co. Census, above. Was there a John married to Margaret who were old enough to have had a son born about 1800? Should investigate this possibility further, or am I looking for things that are not there? (It does appear that Charles son, John F., may be John Franklin and Charles' son William DID name his son William Franklin, so there is the tradition that runs through the family of Robert Wallace here.) Does anyone have any input? Thanks in advance. Claire Wichelmann

Hello Guy, I've got alot of Wallace information for Kent Co, DE (including the large family of David T. Wallace (1680-1751)and surrounding areas, but don't have this James and John Wallace. I would be interested in knowing more about them, especially the descendents of John Wallace's son John. Perhaps there is a connection between him and my ancestor Joshua Wallace, b. 1785, Kent Co. & Served in War of 1812 with Delaware Militia. There were two WALLACE brothers in Kent County MD in the 1730 time period. James WALLACE, from his tombstone in Shrewsbury Church Cemetery, was born c 1693 and died 1741. He left a wife Elizabeth who married a John GRAHAM and daughters Mary, Sarah and Margaret. John WALLACE and Robert HURT signed his inventory as kin. His will mentions brother John, brother-in-laws Robert HART and James STEEL. John WALLACE was married to an Elizabeth and had children John, Elizabeth, Janet and Mary. His inventory was signed by John GRAHAM and Robert HART (or HAIL) as kin. In the will of a Robert DEW he may be the person referred to as John WALLACE, Scotchman. He leased land in "His Lordships Manor" and that property stayed in the family thru the Revolution. I have several generations of his descendants. Can anyone identify this group of WALLACEs? HI, This is my first message to this list. My grandfather was JOSEPH E WALLACE born MILLOM Cumberland, brother WILLIAM H born 1879 & 1880/81 Their father, found via 1881 census was BENJAMIN WALLACE born CONISTON Lancs. He was aged 45 so must have been born 1836. Their mother was MARGERY HALL, aged 30, so born 1851, also of CONISTON. Her sister CATHERINE aged 14 was also living with them in MILLOM, that's sort of near ULVESTON. Benjamin was a Master Printer and I know that my Joseph followed in his footsteps. Joseph married AMY MARGARET BLACKWELL, BORN 1878 in DALTON IN FURNESS. Other associated names are SKELSY, ROYSTONS AND STOUTS, but have no idea in what way except some went to the states. Looking forward to hearing from anyone with these names. Best wishes Sue
