He was reportedly a Captain of Scottish regulars and stayed in Americas after Cornwallis' surrender at Yorktown, Virginia in 1781. I know much about him after this time but have no information on the man before this time and would appreciate any information on him or links on where to find such. Thank you in advance. J. H. Some time ago I received email from people in Ireland looking to see if my Wallace family connected to theirs. I have just taken myself back to Ireland, but lost their email address in the doing. As I stated in my last two messages, William WALLACE was married twice: (1) Mary WALLIS (2) Sarah J. I have a list of his children, but does anyone know which children go with which wife? The birth dates are not far enough apart to make a conclusive determination. Ima
I am trying to help a distant cousin who is a descendant of Abraham WALLACE, born April 14, 1782, married Ann McCLELLEN and Nancy HARDING. Abraham is an assumed son of William WALLACE of Mecklenburg, NC and Blount County,TN and his second wife, Sarah J., whom I mentioned in my previous message. If I'm not mistaken, Abraham was not mentioned in his father's will. My cousin wants to join the DAR and she needs proof that Abraham was indeed the son of William. Does anyone have any documentary proof of Abraham being the son of William? My line comes through Ruth, a sister of Abraham. Ima
Ezekiel WALLIS, son of Matthew WALLACE and Sarah ALEXANDER of Cecil County, MD had a daughter name Mary WALLIS who married William WALLACE (of Mecklenburg County, NC and Blount County, TN), son of Joseph James WALLACE and his wife of various names (some say Ruth, some say others) who was also a son of Matthew and Sarah. Ezekiel WALLIS married Jean ALEXANDER, Margaret ALEXANDER, and Lydia GILLESPIE. Who were the parents of Jean and Margaret ALEXANDER? After Mary died, William WALLACE married a second time to Sarah J. Does anyone know what Sarah's birth surname was? It has been reported as also being WALLACE, but another source states that Sarah's birth surname is unknown. I'd also like to know if anyone has any convincing documentation as to the true birth surname of Joseph James WALLACE's wife. Does anyone have any of the answers to my questions? Sorry, but I'm really making you work here. Ima

My Robert Wallace and family were in Frederick Co., MD, ca 1790-1810. They had sons names Charles, William, and Robert (as well as John and Arthur), and a daughter named Margaret. I know that Charles married Anne Benton, and Margaret married Peter Shown, both in Frederick Co. There are also marrieges for a William Wallace to Elizabeth Hopkins, and a Robert Wallace to Jane Dwyre (both in 1799). I am trying to determine if these two, William and Robert, are sons of Robert and Violet Jane Wallace, and brothers to Charles and Margaret. Does anyone have knowledge of any of these folks???????? Thanks, Bob Wallace

Thomas "Tom" Calvin Wallace married Nancy Taylor Boswell. I do not know either of their parents. They were probably married early 1880s. Their son, John Edward Boswell Wallace, was born in Fannin County TX in 1884 and died in Camp County TX in 1948. He married Allie Alma Holder. John's siblings include: Thomas "Tom" Wallace, Purcey Lawrence Wallace, Charlotte "Lottie" Louise Wallace, Blanche Alma Wallace, Emmet Perry Wallace. I do not know where either family lived prior to settling in Texas. It will be delightful to hear from any of you who may have information about one or more members of this family. Betty Griffin
