My Wallaces are from the Northeastern part of IN. My grandfather was Harry Wallace b. 1895 (married to Nellie Dawson in 1920), His father was James Wallace (married to Barbara Ann VanDorren), His father was Nicholas Wallace(marrried to Sarah - last name unkown). that is where I have a brick wall. Nicholas came from Ohio. Some of the Nicholas' IN descendents went on a trek to Iowa in covered wagons, but due to harsh conditions some returned. The Wallces I have mentioned above are buried In Indiana. I will be visiting their places of burial next month to get some dates. Any help with this brick wall would be appreciated. Also while researching, I came upon an Indian land clain, whereas a Mary Wallace was given a Miami Indian land claim in Allen Co.IN 0n May1,1844. It is signed by President Taylor. My brick wall is Benjamin Harrison Wallace. He was born 1790 probably in Lunenburg Co., VA. His mother was Susannah ?. His father was probably either William (son of Hugh) or Hugh (son of William). Benjamin had 2 known siblings, Robert and Mary/Polly. Benjamin married Emality "Lettie" Wilkes (daughter of Minor Wilkes, Jr. & Phebe White) and moved to Cabell Co., WV. Wayne, Sorry, all I have is Andrew, John and Joseph Wallace in 1786-87 in LOudon Co., Va. Joseph, a son of Andrew, married Elizabeth Rogers in 1786 in Loudon. By 1790 the family was in Bourbon Co. Ky., where they died but their son Andrew Jackson came to Illinois and is buried here. I have had this and only this on the three in Virginia for about 15 years. Andrew Sr. hadland in Bourbon Co. possibly died there in 1796. That is all I know till you get to son Joseph and his son And. J. Wish I could help you and you could help me! SCarlett

I am descended from William Wallace who was born in Batavia, Gennessee Co., NY on 01 February 1823. I do not have his parents names, only possibles, and know only that he was the youngest of 16 children. Is it possible that there were other children in Abraham's family? Do you know of any siblings of Abraham who may have lived in NY? William moved to Michigan in 1847 and married Jane Elizabeth GREEN, daughter of Horace and Polly (HARTWELL) GREEN. Mary WALLACE married Alexander CARSON 19 Apr 1814 in Butler County, OH. They later lived in Fayette Co. IN where Mary died in 1854. I believe their daughter Nancy mar. William MORGAN in Fayette Co. IN on 19 Mar 1848. In the 1850 census, it is probably their son James CARSON & wife Sarah living next door. She died 5 Feb 1896 in Granger, UT, USA. I have checked the Utah State Historical Society Burials Database, but she is not listed there. Her husband is buried in the Salt Lake Cemetery, so I suspect she may be there too and just somehow missed the list. I think my best bet is to just send off a letter to the cemetery, but I thought I would check here first in case anyone out there had a cemetery list with her name on it before I bothered the cemetery. It is believed that his family migrated from NC (Bertie Co ) Sons: Martin Samuel b 1810 NC ; James Wallace b 1814 NC and -brother or son Jonathan Wallace b 1805 NC married to Rebecca Sullivan. Jonathan and Rebecca Sullivan settled in Henderson co TN. I am looking for any information on my gggrandfather and gggrandmother William Balfore Wallace. b in Scotland, married to Betsy Creig in Scotland. They lived, at least for a time before immigrating, in Glasgow. Emigrated to the U.S. abt 1866 with at least two children, 1) an appox. 4 yr old dau Magdeline Philip Wallace born Sept 17, 1862 at Wemyss, Fife, Scotland; 2) an approx 2 year old dau Margaret, and perhaps 3) a baby in arms, Betsy Johnson Wallace born 1866.(she may have been born on board ship or soon after arriving) 4 more children born in US were: Isabel who married a Mr. Hopwood, and in 1928 lived in Birmingham, AL. Hi Molly, Yes there is a web page on this family. I have most of the descendants but cannot find Oliver's wife and probably never will. The descendants of Lt. William Wallace and Ruth Porter moved from York Co, SC to Rutherford Co, NC - then to Marietta, Cobb GA and some of them moved to Alabama and Texas.
