My brick wall has been Emanuel Wallace. In 1952 my maternal grandmother gave me a rosewood tatting box inlaid with mother of pearl. In it she states that the box was given to her by her Uncle Emanuel Wallace. The box was his grand- mothers. It immigrated with her to America around 1776. The note was really maddening as it did not give this grandmother's name and did not give any info on who in the family Emanuel Wallace was related to. As near as I can piece it together the line is as follows: my grandmother: Ida Belle Clark b. 01-05-1889 Marion, Iowa m. John McCreary 12-20-1911 Dallas Co., Iowa, d. 10-24-1985 Orange Co., Ca. Her parents were George Elza Clark b. 02-16-1856 IL. and Sarah Elizabeth McCullough b. 07-06- 1864 Marion Co., Iowa. Sarah's parents were John Franklin McCullough b. 10-09-1839 Union Co., In. and Cynthia (Synthia) Willis b. 1835 Ripley Co., In. Cynthia's parents were John Logan Willis b 06-23-1794 Washington Co, VA and Frances McHenry Wallace b. 03-01-1801 Wayne Co., KY. Frances' parents were Robert Wallace and Jane McHenry. Don't know much about where they came from, but Robert left a will in Wayne Co., KY in 1814. Does anyone from this line have evidence of an Emanuel Wallace living in or near Marion Co., Iowa in the years between 1895 and 1930? I'd sure appreciate a clue as to Emanuel's exact relationship with my grnadmother Ida Belle Clark. And maybe I could find out who our mysterious tatting grand- mother was. Hopefully, Maryanna Stever La Habra, CA.

Hello, Wallace Cousins... I haven't posted the family I'm researching in a while, so here goes... Several Wallace Cousins are looking for any information on the Thomas WALLACE family. Thomas was born in York Co, SC about 1795 and moved to Lauderdale Co, AL around 1819-1820. There is strong circumstantial evidence that his father was a John WALLACE from York Co, SC who died in York Co in 1816. Further, we believe we have identified the following as John WALLACE's other children: - John WALLACE - Sarah/Sally WALLACE m. Cornelius FARRIS 8 Sep 1823, Lauderdale Co, AL - Casy/Cassy WALLACE m. Samuel FARRIS 20 Feb 1826, Lauderdale Co, AL - Catherine WALLACE (>1805 - ) m. William JONES 15 Jan 1828, Lauderdale Co, AL - Samuel WALLACE (>1805 - ) - William WALLACE (suspect). We are more interested in Thomas's parents/grandparents than his descendants. However, here is some info about Thomas's family: Thomas WALLACE (~1795 - 1874) m. Sarah _____. Their children were: - 1 Alexander McCuin WALLACE (1810 - >1870) m. Malinda THORNTON (~1815 - ) 27 Oct 1834, Lauderdale Co, AL - 2 James WALLACE (~1813 - <1870) m. Caroline Lucinda ANDERSON (1816 - <1870) 27 Jan 1836, Florence, Lauderdale Co, AL - 3 Thomas Shelby WALLACE (~1815 - <1876) - 4 Mary S. WALLACE (~1815 - ) m. Lemuel MONTGOMERY 28 Aug 1837, Lauderdale Co, AL - 5 Hettie F. WALLACE (~1817 - ) m. William E. DAVIS 1 Aug 1835, Lauderdale Co, AL - 6 John Burris WALLACE (~1825 - 1876) m. Emily P. MARRS (~1825 - >1870) 9 Jan 1845, Lauderdale Co, AL - 7 Salenius M WALLACE (1828 - >1870) m. Nancy Caroline ROBERSON (~1832 - ) 1851, probably Tennessee - 8 Harrison Kendrick WALLACE (~1830 - >1876) - 9 Samuel J. WALLACE (1833 - ) If any of this looks familiar, please send me a note... Thanks, Lee Mathis Arlington, VA
Hi, I have never posted to this list before but I am hoping to find information on the line of Wallaces I am researching. I have posted my tree at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~katskorner/. I also have a new (very new) website at http://katlchrjones.tripod.com/katsup/. I haven't gotten my Wallace tree up on that site yet but I do have a few photos from the Wallace side on my site. Love to hear from anyone who might be related! Kathy Christie-Jones

William Wallace and Elizabeth Watson emigrated from England in 1820 and settled in the area around Granby, Quebec. Some of their issue moved to the USA. Are there any Wallace researchers looking for some of their descendants who came from either Quebec and Ontario? Would like to hear from you. Harry
