Need information on the STODDARD Family. Believe first his name to be BILL. He was part Indian and lived in Skipanon, Clatsop Co., Oregon where he married Clara May Gore, on May 2, 1883, daughter of Hollis Chubbuck Gore and Mary Evelline Towner Gore of Salkum, Lewis Co., Washington. Bill and Clara had four children. Two are Mary, born May 1887 and Hollis, born February 1898. The other two are thought to be Winnie and Ethel. Ethel committed suicide later by jumping off a ferry in Seattle. Clara died October 18, 1898. In the 1900 Census of Lewis County, Hollis Stoddard, 2 year old grandson is living with Hollis and Mary Gore in Salkum. Mary Stoddard, age 13, is living with her maternal aunt, Katherine Bell Gore Lanceaux and uncle, Joseph Lanceaux also in Salkum. The whereabouts of the other two children are unknown.
