I remember reading about my 3rd great aunt (from Boistfort) going to the Vendors Fair in Portland in the late 1800's. I wish I could remember which one and the date, interesting enough that the fair is still continuing. I remember reading that they took the train down there. Also, has any one else ever read about the County Fair that was in Lewis County in the late 1800's and the contests they use to have? I have often wondered if Lewis County still had them and if not, would some historical society research about them and try to have some of the activities they did back then. Michelle
