Joyce, Although born 40 years after George bremer died, I spent many years of my youth in and around Bremer. The Tilton (original name of the town)River was a big part of my youth. My mother was born in Bremer in 1928. My G-grandfather, Thomas Greer was an early homesteader. My information is that the Bremer Post Office was established as Tilton in 1884 and later renamed in 1890 in honor of George Bremer. I can not remember seeing the Bremer Cemetery, however I will be in the area in early August and will spend some time in Bremer doing a little research. Adam and George Bremer started the community of Bremer and George started the first post office. Adam died either 1891 or 1905. Apparently his tombstone in Bremer is still visible. My great-grandfather was Adam Bremer, probably son of above Adam or George. He was married to Lulu Studhalter. She had been married before, so I don't know if that was her married name or her maiden name. He died around 1928 in Cinebar and she died in the late 1940's, early 50's. Does anyone have the ability to do census lookups or marriage lookups for this time period which may be helpful to me? Any information about this family is appreciated.
